My belief is that Yuko has roleplayed a loli on stream for so long that she thinks she’s an actual child and treats everything like a game when vtubing is a business. This isn’t something where you can create a new save file and choose a different playstyle, you have to do the hard slow work of gently assuring your fans about changes. When Joji ditched filthy frank to do serious music, he had multiple videos over a period of weeks explaining and re-explaininghis reasons for changing his content and then he graduated the persona and got a new one. But Yuko is impatient.
She passed the Phase audition but couldn’t wait the 6 months in the basement and dipped for Idol who was faster. Yuko was supposed to be Phase’s original Panko before she quit and they got the Italian as the 2nd Panko who debued.
There is only so much Aviel can do. Yuko fumbling a bad announcement is much better than another month of hiatus and boobros shitting up the official discord and bothering other talents and Aviel himself. Mahbe if Yuko were a bit more humble, Aviel could have coached her and figured out a better way to approach the situation but Yuko is a womanchild and we all know how children are stubborn. It depends. Does NijiEN collapses completely and closes shop? If the livers still exist but are merged into NijiJP, their fans will follow them. But if they get HoloCN'd their fans will either move on or just disappear.

A lot of their original more moderate fans that they have bled over the years probably already jumped ship to other corpos/indies. The hardcore sisters will probably latch onto another group, but they will most likely be wrangled by any talents/corpo pretty easily and behave or they get filtered out.

Wait, this is a good thing. As much as we complain about Japanese Corpo values, these are mostly traditional and conservative values in a broader sense involving honor and will. The funny part is that Nijisanji is just as basic corpo jap as any other, same with Hololive. Hololive just so happens to hire talents that don’t seem insanely left leaning which is against the right leaning nature of corpo structures. One of the problem with Niji En was having incredibly left leaning individuals while still maintaining a broader right leaning corpo structure.

Take Uki and his fans for example, where they are so deep in the left they cannot see the hypocrisy in Uki’s own statements about white people. Then there’s the gender thing, gay sexuality bullshit like Yugo, where cracks of the conflicting political leanings are slowly yet surely beginning to show. Hell, Kronii is some weird ass bi or non binary person in her PL, but saying stuff like that is being avoided in Hololive because the talents they hire seem to NOT be extremely left leaning, not too far from the original right leaning nature of the corpo industry.

Of course some mistakes can still happen, but man, being a lefty clearly doesn’t generate as much money as being a righty (as is the stereotype).

I don't think the problem is differences in political leaning. I think it's just plain negligence. They hired bad staff, they hired a bunch of catty bitches that the bad staff couldn't control, and they ignored the numerous warning signs and only clamped down after the damage was already done.
I don't think the Holo girls are terribly different in terms of personal character. If they were managed like NijiEN girls, they'd probably end up clique-y bitches too. But Cover keeps them on a tight leash and have competent people holding the leash, so order is maintained.

I actually don't want that people to move on to other corpos. The potential money isn't worth it. They should go back to being kpop stans and hello kitty fan accounts.

Holostars has gotten minor uptake from their audiences in the past. Bettel notably got most of his early oil barons from ex-niji (particularly scorned Hex fans), he also collabed with Mysta and Kyo and absorbed some of their audience post-grad, and there's a good smattering of nijifans that looked over the fence when the new Armis unit debuted and are now moving further away from niji and becoming majority stars. I do believe salty yumes that can't get enough BFE (thrown out by Vox) went to stars to find non-female-collabers like Shinri. There's also fans that cross back over, Claude got a debut boost from the Magni/Bettel audience and some of them have stuck with him even now.

Someone needs to hire all those desperate indies. If not NijiEN someone has to fill that void.

I feel like phase has more potential to break out in areas where traditional vtubers don't excel. Their reputation has kind of spread to other corners of the internet. Pippa in particular and Tenma to a lesser extent have given them a bit of a unique identity that makes them feel more adjacent to traditional streamers than vtubers. That identity seems to be embraced by the other talents who tend to advertise themselves as "not your typical vtuber" A lot of that is hype more than reality, Pippa's not as extreme as her reputation makes her out to be but they've been smart enough to ride it to more and more success. I see them continuing to grow but I don't really see them poaching viewers from other corpos. They're just not providing the same experiences. Some other company is gonna pick up those viewers. The real advantage of this Niji shit for Phase is that it's brought attention to the industry from people outside of the vtubing fandom who might end up seeing their content and deciding to stick around.

Speaking for myself, I used to watch Indies and Holo JP/ID before Niji EN was a thing:
Mint was my oshi, Haachama was the 1st chuuba I watched altogether, Risu has also been fun.
When Pomu was around, I watched her, some other Niji ENs like Rosemi, but I came to the conclusion that I'm just there for Pomu.
Other chuubas I watched during this time were exactly the same as before, but I also grew to like Mel for example.
Now that Pomu is gone, Elira can go fuck herself. I won't watch her or her corpo. Right now, I mostly watch Sayu and Doki, but I also appreciate Haachama's return. Risu has usually streamed in ID and I don't speak this.
I'll obviously watch Pomu when she returns and whatever corpo she decides to join.
