Vtubers must send their identity to the chinese government because of taxation issue.
Japan also want to implement the same.
do you agree?

CCP yet again ruining another young person's hobby, first it was videogames, now it's vtubers

Source? It would be the end of vtubing in Japan, they've already had issues with turbospergs and idols, imagine that but much worse for vtubers.

A lot of youth just don't want to work anymore because what's the point? Especially if you're a guy and you need to own 3 houses before you can even be considered a marriage candidate. You will be paid very little, the economy around you is collapsing, the government is corrupt to its core, society is shit and miserable, your culture has been hollowed out and filled with CCP directives, it's hard to emigrate away and take your money since the CCP doesn't allow it if you want to leave the country you will do so as a poor man.

I am not going to make fun of anyone who was in that collage. That collage was made by antis, compiling images of vtubers/general content creators that had lots of antis out there and people wanting to make fun of them by going "ha you're ugly!" if they did something to upset the chinese people, they're already better people than whoever made the image.

The thing I don't like about the reporting on this law is that it's using the same image as if it was the government posting it. If anyone actually knew anything about the law, they'd report how people got access to this information(like where the public would be able to access this information) because from what I gather, this isn't actually publicly available information and some bad actor just had access to this information and chose specific people to leak to the public. If this was a public database thing, I feel like we would've seen a lot more vtuber faces outside of the ones in that one image(like someone would've doxed Artia by now or a more relevant JP chuuba who works through bilibili who'd also be subject to these laws), yet we haven't. Not to mention, the image includes people who haven't been active for a really long time/graduated. So unless they ungraduated themselves just to do a face reveal, it absolutely doesn't function like how people are framing it as.

I didn't care for Kachou then and don't really like Kson now but for what she did during that entire situation and having the guts to direct all the attention on her and off of Chammers and the rest of Holo makes me respect her a lot and I am glad she's seen as a legend now. Cover either has incredible luck or incredible perception in avoiding fuckups all the time but it definitely helps when you build a family-like bond with all your idols.

There's a theory that the whole outrage at Coco in the first place was manufactured by Bilibili to get their own players into the vacuum in any case. Cover made the announcement to graduate holoCN on November 12. A-soul releases debut video on November 23.
Now that A-soul is collapsing, suddenly Bilibili lets Cover back in again.

People that have lots of antis, really popular people, people with lots of gachis. Plenty of reasons to target specific people. To be the kind of person who'd want to leak this information to fuel future harassment though, you are probably an anti by default so it'd be 100% believable that they'd choose people that already have targets on their backs who you'd want to add more fuel to the fire.

The easy answer that people don't like to hear is to stop valuing the potential money that the chinese market could bring. That's the only reason they have so much power and influence in entertainment spaces. Cover did it, and it worked out massively for them.

It's not as much of a deal as people make of it in terms ofnthe law. Mainly it's Japan's transition to a VAT system, where every legal entity has a VAT number they need to put on invoices so that they are tax deductable.
Having that is not mantory, but you may loose the ability to make invoices with your VAT number, which some businesses may not like.

Obviously this system needs a system so that people can verify the VAT number. This is where the problem comes in. Japan decided to make this available as a CSV file.
(In other countries they provide a verification tool, that is a lot better and you basically can just verify the information you are give in an invoice)

So there are two options. You get a VAT number so you can write invoices properly. Or you don't get one and businesses might not do business with you because they cannot write off the invoices you sent them. If you are part of an agency the agency does the business side. So it's not that big of a problem. But your business with your agency (remember the person behind the Vtuber is self-employed) might be affected, but their business pseudonym is not the name of the Vtuber. It's also not like someone might do the business side under their pseudonym. Biggest affected are Mangaka or Artists who operate under a pseudonym because they do genres that are looked down upon.

There is also a trasition period where both systems work.

It's probably the same stupid shit that "It'd be illegal to use this for illegal purposes so people won't misuse this" type of argument that the Japs keep making when it IT decisions. Same shit with On-Disc DLC and people like immediately cracking it and using it because the game maker was fucking stupid.

Like the fact this is openly searchable is insane from not only a doxxing perspective but just a security nightmare.
IIRC PIXIV Booth will let you get listed as being employed by them or something (for a nominal fee) so you're not openly listed on that system.

It's simpler than that:
The overwhelming majority of the most popular vtubers in china aren't chinese. The CCP keeps an obsessively tight control over the kind of media available to their populace and random foreign citizens doing the equivalent of a radio show represents a dangerously uncontrolled window into the outside world, especially because vtubers are so popular over there that it's become a cultural phenomenon.

They drafted a bill during the Coco situation that essentially mandated vtubers in China all become party mouthpieces and all corpos operating there to take on a CCP-affiliated compliance department to oversee their internal operations. This contributed to Cover's decision to pull out of the country entirely, and Nijisanji's choice to split their chinese branch into a subsidiary. In fact, it's pretty likely the whole "drama" with Coco was manufactured as a pretense for the bill.

But there's a limit to how much influence the party can exert over foreign vtubers that are simply being watched in China, whether legitimately or through VPNs. Policy changes like this are intended to increasingly strong-arm the popular personas in the hopes of reigning in the amount of foreign media their citizens are consuming.
