It's been so long since I'd used regional prompter for anything so I'm not really sure, but I don't think it's any worse? If the image concept involves the characters interacting in a complex way it does sorta poorly, but so did older models. I think some of the difference might be just because XL does normal prompts a fair bit better than older models, so the badness of regional prompt stands out even though it's not any worse.

From what I have been actually noticing in other boards with regional prompters, it seems to really hate anything that's not a standard SDXL res, and starts giving weird results. I mostly sticks to 1024 square or 832*1216 portrait/landscape res's. Seems to do well on those.

Probably just in the common prompt? I haven't tried it too much since I'm still just checking out how the XL models look without artist tags for now. It's pretty funny since every once in a while it'll gen a pic that's a completely different style than usual for seemingly no reason.
Although this did make me curious if you can put a different artist on each half, which had amusing results

For animagine there is another way to do 2 characters without region prompter. Basically you would separate the characters with a BREAK and only use their names (see box). This generally works for the more popular characters (most Holos except ID, popular gacha characters etc). Also gives some comp that you wouldn't get with region.

The actual effect I think is still debated (in terms of quality) but yes it's supposed fill the token limit and then start it again which gives more emphasis to whatever comes after the break.
This has a more substantial effect in XL models since you can use them to do multi-subject gens.

None of the base models could do porn (well at least not good ones). Usually it's the community who adds them in. Alright that makes me feel a bit better. I have been using SD 1.5 for almost a year now, have tried out SDXL, and have been messing around with Microsoft's Dall-E 3 since November. I really want to be able to make images with as little touch-ups as possible to fix all the various issues such as bad hands, etc. I'd rather spend more time crafting a scene/particular pose/look than having to re-try a prompt with several dozen different adjustments just to get a decent image with as few visual errors/artifacts/deformities as possible.

Okay I'm playing around with it and holy shit I am impressed.
Worth having to go though Comfy for the merge.
Seems to fix the issues I had (like Korone's ears) and was very on model even for outfits from a few tests I did.
Still seems to play nice with Artist LoRas. Might need to re-adjust strengths a bit.

It's easy to fuck up when finetuning because it trains everything, including things that you shouldn't touch. If LR is too high - text encoder, time embeds and conv layers will overfit / break easily.
With lora/lyco you train less so you have less opportunity to fuck up, and using --scale_weight_norms or train_norm helps to prevent frying/overfitting.

For hll6.3-fluff i usually resumed from a previous version (a9 is resumed from from a7, a9-eps is resumed from a9 for EF, etc. ) because re training from scratch would take too much time (1 epoch on 900k images takes >24 hours). So i just added new images and resumed training for 1-2 epochs on a dataset with both new and old images.
Base was trained for 12-15 epochs on around 300k images, i don't remember.

But if he trained TE, you have to understand that training text encoder always breaks it a little and makes it dumber. And if it broken too much you cant fix it. CLIP is shit, but it was trained on billions of entries on hundreds of gpus, you can't reproduce it with a small dataset
Maybe he should wait for a new type of lora to be implemented in lycoris repo and in a1111. It should have a similar performance to full funetuming and lora/dora is faster than full finetune. Finetuning only makes sense if you are doing a significant change like retraining 512x512 res model to 1024x1024, not if you are just adding characters and artists.

I know there were some extensions for alternate types of upscaling, anyone know if those still work on forge and/or with SDXL? Technically I don't really need it since the original gen itself can go a fair bit bigger with XL, but I tried the default hires fix just to see, and my hardware basically can't handle it at all. I can go up to about x1.3 size which is barely even worth doing

Well, idk why but he claimed the opposite. Lora for animagine got fried like instantly, from what he tried. Not completely sure, but he didn't used any hard dampening on that tho, so might be bad settings

How are you balancing your dataset? I saw in metadata that you did 1 repeat on old data and 2 repeats on the new in a7 version

He was training it with TE, might be a fine idea to stack extracted lora on top of somewhat it works fine to continue training?

Thats interesting, but he dont want to wait and just considering what to do next right now, train a new one or just continue. Gathering some 2hus into dataset with new artists atm.
