Even if she openly said that she's doing it to completely change her content such a clean, respectful break would tie all lose ends and leave her audience with a satisfying end to their journey with her as Yuko. Some would follow her, some would not, but she'd both exit and enter perfectly clean. In a stricter sense she'd also have to earn her subs as a "new" chuuba and establish a new culture and fanbase for herself. By not doing any of that she's still benefiting from the subcount she de facto didn't earn and on top of that actively and publicly disowned alongside her original fanbase. But it's actually even worse for the "new Yuko" this way because for as long as she's nuYuko she'll forever be explicitly and only tied to her GFE and lewd ASMR. Corpo vtubers are not themselves. they will always be tied to some degree to their corpo and at least genmates. anyone who has looked at any corpo knows a solid chunk of fans are fans of the corpo, not the individual vtuber, aswell as success or controversy both from their fellow talents can and will effect them. on top of this, their career can be inflated or propped up by the corpo and corpo structure.

this often makes a new corpo or corpo gen debuting almost more like a movie or event, than an introduction to an individual talent. its an inflated spectacle that an indie just cant usually pull off, and even if they could match a single corpo talents debut, they cant match a whole group in terms of pizazz factor. this however, mixed with the other issues of a corpo, can easily end up with talents not actually having anywhere near the support it looks like, and leaving only a scant few talents actually having one reason or another for continued growth and proper support, because a solid chunk of the original support was just people there for the spectacle that always wears off, or corpo fans spread thin.
and then the new spectacle of the next gen comes around, but now the corpo has an initial boost to get more on the new talents out the gate, aswell as possibly having talents of a higher quality to help keep attention on them.
and if they last, hopefully, the process keeps repeating with a slight increase each gen.

Always thought about watching Yuko when she first debuted because of how cute she sounded and how cute her design is. Honestly one of the best vtuber designs I've seen. I definitely would've watched her early on in her career, but the fact that she works for Jewcorp is already enough to prevent me from watching her. Although I'm glad I didn't end up watching her now considering the absolute shitshow she got herself into and the implosion of her fanbase. I'm surprised she even still has viewers after that

I've mixed feelings on this...

On the one hand, I don't blame her for not wanting to do GFE, because it is both stupid and dangerous to do. It breeds Unicorns which are the most psychotically attached sort of fans, that will do horrific things to you if they ever manage to track you down, whether they are angry with you or not. They also aren't real reliable, as almost anything can make them leave in a rage, such as coming within 1,000 feet of a man (despite the fact that they're jacking off to you with 1,000+ other men in the virtual room doing the same. I've no idea how these people watch porn.)

On the other hand, while she did at least give them a few months off to get them used to the idea, she could have let them down more gently, and thus more safely. She also deleted content people paid actual money for, and while digital content is risky as in "Jesus saves and so should you", that doesn't make it any less despicable.

People who try to remake themselves by deleting their past tend to end up developmentally stunted as a result. They never really confront and integrate what drove them to the behavior they no longer wish to be associated with and never truly come to terms with it. Thus the behavior tends to repeat, just in a new fashion as the instinct to relive trauma takes over.

Agreeing with some others here that a re-debut would have been a better route.

Still, I wish her luck. Never listened to the ASMR stuff, just enjoyed her presence in collabs, as a high energy little thing plays off others very well, and I watched her angsty Half-Life playthrough with nostalgic glee. Don't think I'll be checking out her "nature documentaries" though, didn't bother finishing the 10 minute sample, not my thing.
