I operate under the theory that a sizeable number of Nijifags were waiting for an excuse to shit on Niji for a while now. From the start they were vocally counter-culture to Hololive and ultimately planted the seed of conflict in the average Nijifag because it gave something to feel superior over, the starts of a tribal mentality. So you foster a community that's more aggressive in defending their principles, where the community's sense of self-worth is framed around drama and attacks from the outside, rather than through accomplishments within. Think of shit like Vox rallying his community against vagina burp haters because actual wins like 3D were few and far between. Time marches on. Each new wave from that point just added more cracks and segregation. More yabs to defend. More criticism to deflect. Because of this, they encounter far more rrats than the average vtuber fan, gradually internalizing them over time. Sure, they wouldn't let it affect them because it was just nonsense rumors, but it was still there, hostile negative energy piling up, but never used to attack only defend.

Then the doki shit broke out and the response left enough smoke to make any burning rrat believable. So now you have this group of people that were primed to be confrontational, who had to endure the "shame" of being a nijifag for years and defended people against what they thought were fabrications and misunderstandings, suddenly have the rug pulled under and realize they put themselves in the camp responsible of committing all the things they thought they were against. All that repressed outrage bursting to the fore.
That's not even considering the people who just found out about things for the first time and had years of built up rumors crash on top of them.

So when you say "neither of them did anything," Finana's shitty takes and Enna's anti-fan ragebaiting are now valid enough reasons to hate them, they're all symptomatic of behaviors that put fans on the firing line. Enna and Finana have more visible yabs than most other members. Their confrontational behavior invited drama and more to the point all the outsider arguments before that they dismissed suddenly sound a lot more believable now.

This is actually kinda what happened with me. I entirely swore off Hololive after their shameful handling of the Taiwan-Yab. I then became a Nijifag, thinking that Nijisanji would treat their talents better than what I saw with Hololive.
