They clearly had a massively increased vetting process that also had a lot to do with their talent as creatives, even Nerissa aside from just being a singer produces transliterated English versions of the songs she covers that match the melodies (this is a noteworthy and valuable talent for cover). They also had a radically different and much more intensive "boot camp" before debut that allowed them to get to know each other, become comfortable with each other, become rocks for each other behind the scenes. And were not allowed to interact with any of the other EN members outside their gen even though Mori apparently said she would have liked to, but wasn't allowed. Their group cohesion is immense.

they are entertaining, have great comedic timing and synergy, make unhinged jokes that sometimes flies over the heads of the other girls in collabs, have a whole established rhythm and dynamic to their style of humor in things like FWMC morning like a proper Japanese comedy duo, have "characters" like Pero (definitely not Mococo pretending to be some sort of degenerate Danny Devito esque character), etc. Their ups and downs while generally floundering in games is also a source of hilarity and I never get frustrated watching them fail like I might at the ineptitude of other chuubas over enough time. They're excellent at utilizing their models and have good comedic timing with expressions as well, the way they express themselves through the rigging with their side glances, darting glances like they're truly performing for an audience giving comedic cues is masterful. They also put a lot of work in in general, they've done multiple visual novels now with different failure and success routes. With half of the Ruffians watching talking about being madly in love and the other half saying how fucking funny, goofy and dorky the whole performance is.

They're also entertaining by virtue of them being genuine otaku hags with a serious and genuine passion for otaku and Japanese culture, not just being funny entertaining. It's great to be able to see the breadth of their interest and how deep it really goes. Shit like navigating around Japan in geoguesser by memorized Mister Donut locations and getting every answer right within 5 meters. Also the fact they keep the kayfabe up, without faltering to the extent they do shows their acting talent and commitment.

Also it's not a point of "entertainment" but their work ethic that they're literally 5 minutes early for every scheduled stream on the dot and are so committed to the programs and bits they decided on. Not to talk poorly of Ame but the difference is so stark. Ame was always creating concepts for morning show projects and whatnot and never following up after the first episode or so while these girls are on episode XX of their morning show they do 3 times a week, often entirely foregoing sleeping the entire night to do them after streams from the previous night.

And fans reflect the chuuba. The level of quality of fan projects is insane. From Pop Team Epic parody OP animations to "FUWAMOCO 64".

Every other vtuber gets moments when they're alone and have to rely on themselves to support the stream, but Fuwamoco always support each other which allows them to go strong all the time. Kiara, Fuwawa, and Mococo are one in the same, this is a subsitute for something they really want and is as close as they're going to get given their own circumstances. The only difference is that Kiara got disillusioned with her weeb autism and the twins didn't (or really do well playing that character). I love all 3 but I swapped to Fuwawa and Mococo because I still like weeb shit to a degree and Kiara basically has a distain for anything that isn't a memory of her past regarding it. That, and old Kiara while still being herself had a little more charm to her.
As for why Myth feels so far apart, it's because they are physically far apart so they can't sync up with times well AND you have 2-3 isolationist introverts who are autistic as fuck and are hard to get to commit to things together. You might be forgetting, but back when Myth debuted, they had group collabs pretty frequently and while some of them were stiff, some were great.
