There are several reasons you don't like the sound of your own voice when you hear it recorded and played back to you. 1) Humans recognize the sound of their own voice. Naturally we recognize both the sound of that voice when we speak, and when we hear it externally to ourselves. Because we and our voice are unique, in totally natural circumstances we should never hear our voice or something similar to our voice speak to us. 2) Your voice as you hear it when you speak is warped by the air traveling around your head to your ears as well as your bones inside your head vibrating when you speak. That's not the case with a recorded voice. Naturally these will sound different due to direction (and lack of bend) to the sound wave travel and your microphone does not connect itself to your skull to try to detect internal vibrations to recreate your internal voice.
Its nothing to get hung up on, famous singers with multi-platinum albums hate their voices. You just have to overcome your unease and make peace with it to become comfortable with the fact that the voice you hear when you talk to yourself isn't the voice that others hear from you.

It's not that I have an issue doing BFE personally. In fact, I feel like streaming in general shares quite a lot of similarities with host culture. But, in doing BFE, accusations were made against me and I was ostracized and targeted and as such, many potential networking opportunities were ruined for me.
I talked about it briefly when I switched over to Twitch in November, but this is why I don't entertain that dynamic anymore and I would not recommend ANYONE to do it. BFE does not work successfully outside of Japan. You will eventually run into a yume/fujoshi that becomes scornful towards you on a dime and decides to destroy your reputation for one reason or another because westerners have a #YesAllMen mentality by default. Even Vox eventually could not handle dealing with the EN yume/fujo and went menhera. Don't do BFE unless you do prerecords like Iriya, and if you do that, keep your dms closed with no exceptions.
