Most of these I can believe are true, but it was necessary at the time.
The mere mention of Coco in any hololive stream would result in the chinese bots ruining their chat with their spam.
Coco saw this and probably herself didn't want to get involved with the EN branch at the time. They were new and that would put a bigger target on them.
Unfortunately, that was how hololive knew how to do things, stay low until the storm passes.
Not sure how long the chinks would've harassed them if Coco didn't leave, they switched their target to Fubuki after she graduated, so they probably would have to walk on eggshells to this day, who knows. Someone had to give up at some point, and sadly it was Coco who did first, and most likely to protect the talent from this hell, and not herself.
They got a lot of goodwill when they chose her over China, something that even bigger companies refused to do. If that didn't happen, you could bet your ass that they would've gotten the same treatment that nijisanji is getting right now.
