People keep saying this shit but as someone who does know some stuff about the law (not a lawyer, just been in a lot of cases) they're actually in the clear. Even under US laws.
The assumption people are making is that the legal teams disclosed documents to the livers which would be problematic, but it's far more likely that they just confirmed the addressed parties which isn't just allowed but expected.

Going as far as they did today DOES leave the people involved open for legal liabilities, but that they did so makes it far more likely that they have a real case if it goes to trial. It's very unlikely that the livers who were present were forced to do it as well because pushing them to make the statement involuntarily is a massive liability on its own that I can't imagine the company would've taken on.

I think the laws are different for 100% remote work. Hololive and Nijisanji don't have branches incorporated in the US/Canada etc, unlike many of the major tech companies, and Hololive/Nijisanji isn't paying taxes to the US/Canadian government.

It's different with something like Toyota with a factory or office in the US, because in that circumstance Toyota is definitely constrained under US law and is following American labor standards.
