That's true if they are active subs and I guess we'll see the effects of their losses in the coming weeks but it's possible that these subs were just from people who subbed to all of Niji's livers and didn't watch every stream.
The diehard fans who make up those 800 are likely still there and make up those who are vocal about how you shouldn't unsub from the livers even if you're upset with Nijisanji.
There's also the fact that Nijisanji very clearly uses/used bots to boost their livers views and there is of course the oversea (SEA/ Chinese) audience that doesn't know or give a shit about what happened with Selen.

It's possible I can be completely wrong about all of this and Nijisanji's reputation in the west is completely tarnished but in terms of the damage we'll see how bad this was for them in a month or two.
