She was really nervous that Kamen Rider fans would be angry about her being in the movie and her amateur acting, seeing as to how she was pretty much a main character, but she was very happen that the overall reception even from people that are not Holo listeners was very good.

I love Fubuki!

She was indeed thinking about cancelling the project last week after the news about the Mel incident got out, but ended up leaving it up to Micomet whether they want to do it or not because it wasn't really up to her alone. They wanted to go ahead with it, so she met up with them an hour early and talked a lot about what to do and how she feels. She has been hanging out with them a lot lately and they supported her during these difficult times and helped her on- and off-stream to be able to keep streaming as usual. She then played Palworld with Micomet so much that she didn't really get much time alone to dwell on what happened and get depressed, which really helped her mentally as well. She's glad that she got so close to them lately. She was also very happy about being able to do the Utawaku with Azki and the meme project right after, which helped her keep herself busy.

People always say she's mentally strong, but she's just very good at masking how she feels about things like this. She never cracked a single time during all these years of Chinese spam, for instance. Mel has been around her for her whole career, almost 6 years, it must have definitely come as a shock. They had just recently met offline with all of 1kisei and decided to make 1kisei more of a thing with monthly collabs and stuff, and now the future of the whole generation is a bit uncertain. As someone who used to dislike streamers in general, I still don't get those who exclusively hate VTubers, and I find it even funnier when they do it while glorifying their so-called "fleshstreamer". I wonder if it's the humanity's classic: "It's different, so I hate it"... It is understandable that she would focus on the positive reviews, especially when talking about it on stream, but I hope she keeps the good ones in her heart and that they truly are the majority of these reviews. I think it's less about being a Vtuber and more that the average fan might see it as nepotism or stunt casting because she's not a professional voice actor. She did mention she had to provide a voice sample and undergo a short audition to check if she was suitable for the role, so it's not like she just got the role handed to her, though. I believe she said she spent a long time looking at comments when the announcement first came out and after the movie released and was relieved by the overall reaction, so I don't think she took any potential negative comments to heart in light of the overwhelming support she got even from non-listeners. The Suisei general has over twice as many posters as we do, so it's difficult to compare the two. I do wish this place was a little more active in general and more people would actually talk about streams, but it is what it is. Last time we discussed whether it's worth keeping this general alive a couple of months ago, most people said it has value to them even if it's not the most active place. I know this is going to sound like an excuse, but I just wish she'd play something different than Palworld. The miko and suisei interactions are nice, but I have as much interest in talking about this game as I do apex, and overtime it seems like she is barely playing other games besides one offs. Not saying she has to, it's her choice, but I wish she'd play single player games again as it's kind of hard to talk about the 10th Palworld stream with huge amounts of enthusiasm. I'm also not to keen on a merge unless we literally have to because we die so much. /fbk/ had several offers over the years (Bakatare, OKFAMS, Matsuri) but we've always decided against it. I feel like we don't really have all that much in common and Fubuki doesn't collab with anyone often enough to warrant it (excluding things like the current arc), so it adds very little value for us but we kind of lose a space that's dedicated to our oshi alone if you know what I mean. Sekiro streams are great and 100% worth watching, was a great time. What I'm referring to is she had drama surrounding those streams because she'd make new streams outside of the sekiro one's with superchats enabled because fromsoft wouldn't let her when playing sekiro. They would be the usual end of the stream chats but outsiders were really upset about it, even when she had chatting streams in the morning after a sekiro one they'd claim she's only doing it to make money despite them being regular chatting streams. This went on for awhile, she only talked about it in a members stream briefly and never publicly addressed it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it took her off from streaming any future fromsoft games.

Now that you mention it, that makes sense. I never looked at it this way before. If someone makes an interesting post or talks about a specific topic, that often starts a discussion and there's suddenly a lot of us around even if the thread was quiet before (exactly like just now). I guess there is just not always a lot to talk that directly relates to the streams themselves as they unfold, especially if they are relatively samey like the current arc tends to be. Activity here comes in waves rather than a constant stream. And I guess it'd rather have the occasional surge of high-quality discussion than a constant stream of shit.

Probably. Tons of streamers have some sort of anxiety about taking days off, mainly because some people will leave and stop supporting them if they disappear for about X days, it's the sad reality of a job like this.

It's such a needless fear, too. I think that only applies to the most casual of viewers. She has a huge hardened core of Sukonbu with 2-4 year membership badges that will stay with her until 4am on a weekday multiple days in a row without question no matter what she plays. None of them would leave if she took a rest once in a while. If anything, if you look at Hololive in general, it's obviously untrue. People that only stream irregularly like Aqua and Ayame can do just as well if not better than people that do every single day. Miko's popularity skyrocketed after her months-long break in 2020 and Haachama seems to be doing just fine as well. I guess she probably just really enjoys streaming like she always says she does and doesn't see a reason to take breaks too often because it's like a hobby for her, too.

I know nobody wants to admit it hololive community but numbers matter, without guaranteed customer base Cover can't negotiate good deals on merch producers, rent big arenas for concerts or get attention from big sponsors.

You're right, for individual content creators it's a major problem, but as you acknowledged in your last sentence, within the Holo-bubble it doesn't seem to be as impactful because of the abundance of adjacent content available nearly at all times. A lot of people just watch somebody else for the day if their Oshi isn't streaming. A decent amount of these 60% casual viewers are probably exactly those, people that are watching her because their own Oshi isn't streaming, or they are Hakooshi and just watch whoever they feel like and weren't necessarily going to watch every stream in the first place, so I don't think her taking the occasional couple of extra days off is likely to make a huge difference. What I actually meant to convey is the fact that she has a large amount of core viewers that would watch her no matter what that would cushion any impact taking breaks would have. She's been streaming a lot of FF14 to around 2000-3000 viewers because nobody else cares, and yet her Pokemon, Palworld or other popular game stream numbers are consistently very high. Numbers are undoubtedly important to a certain degree, nobody is denying that, but due to the agency structure, it seems like Holomen have a lot more leeway. Okayu takes off a whole month every year and that seems to work out just fine for her. Nevertheless, I think she just doesn't really want or seemingly need these breaks. She seems to be doing quite well in the sponsorship and collaboration game despite her not chasing the top any more and basically just doing whatever she feels like, so everything seems to be working out fine for her.

You're absolutely right that due to how the agency is structured there is always something else to watch but this is not true for all viewers, so at best it(holosphere) will only slow down the subscriber drain that would otherwise occur from being inactive

So far the losses have been buried by forementioned structure, where growing channels also dragged others in their wake, but now that JP branch has basically plateaud their growth, any period of inactivity shows in metrics almost instantly and the damage is permanent (unless you do something that goes viral nation wide like maribako)

now you can imagine how terrified they are if taking a weekend off shows as red in the graph
