Twitch ads are more times than not prerolls that interrupt raids, a core feature of the site.
If your only response to that information is "hurr tv did it first" then you clearly don't see the issue.
I would have no qualms with running ads on my content if I had control over prerolls and ads, but the only way to prevent prerolls is to constantly run ads during your stream, and not oh I'll do it every 2 hours or so, no it has to be 3 minutes per hour. and even then they still run initial pre-rolls.

The biggest issue with it is that your viewers don't all get ads at the same time. Worse yet, pressing the button doesn't instantly queue in ads. It starts a new fucking timer for usually about 5m where ads can start for one, all, or none of your viewers within that time.

the best way to do ads if you want money is obeying the 3 minute per hour deal to prevent prerolls.
if you do not care about money and want a better viewer experience you opt out of ads, and explain to people that the only ads they'll ever see are prerolls because they're out of your control.

When I was testing the system and running 3 min of ads per hour I made 9 dollars a stream.
When I opt out of ads I only make 90 cents per week from ads.
I'm ok with this because once you pass the prerolls you do not get interrupted again unless you have to refresh the page (which I got a tinfoil hat theory that happens more often than it should for this specific reason)
