You know that isn't how the human mind works. The streaming industry, especially when it comes to vtubing, is incredibly harsh on the talents, because they're surrounded by schizos from all sides. And while most streamers gain their audience naturally, corpo vtuber girls, especially under Hololive, get suddenly thrown before the eyes of hundreds of thousands of people, which means they have zero time to get accustomed to the feeling of quasi being a target. Most of these girls genuinely do love what they do and have a passion for certain things, in Nerissa's case, singing, but it's impossible to completely please a crowd consisting of that many people. It's easy to claim that you're mentally strong if you've never stood before thousands of people who instantly judge the skill you're most proud of and what you worked for, comparing you to your peers. I genuinely think that most people would not handle it well and it contributes to the fact that there's a plethora of menhera vtubers who simply break down under the pressure. Maybe after years of being an entertainer, you can build a mental fortress strong enough to protect yourself from the 1% of negativity, but that usually comes with rebuilding the pierced through wall again and again many many times.

I disagree, if you've had even a cursory experience with artists, youtubers and other kinds of creators and entertainers in real life and on the internet, there is a clear difference between people who are sensitive to criticism and those who either insulate themselves from it or evaluate that criticism before choosing to either disregard it or take it on board. Criticism is intrinsic part of creating and performing and how people manage it depends on their personality and experience.

You can argue that streaming is different because at the end of the day the streamer is putting themselves and not their art, videos and opinions out there, but at the end of the day it's up to Nerissa to decide how she's going to respond to that criticism. Personally I think a lot of it's valid - unless she's having fun with family and forgets herself, her singing comes off as timid and almost-half hearted. I think that hiding away from criticism is the worst thing you can do, it either leads to arrogance or a failure to grow.
