What do we do now?
Pomu can never be replaced (unless Pomu comes back) but is there another chuuba we can watch to fill the void?
I don't know if it will feel the same, though...

FuwaMoco. They aren't as open (yet?) about their passions as Pomu is but they have the same if not higher appreciation for Japanese media. From games, anime, visual novels, all the way to Akihabara and idols. They're veterans with huge power level who always try to stay positive and above all else, care about their fans to the fullest. They are professionals to the core and you can trust them they will avoid stepping into any sort of yab. I'm sure they will be able to cheer you up with the unique atmosphere of their streams.

However it's also fine to take this chance to get away from vtubers for a while and maybe focus on previously neglected hobbies or channel your sadness and frustrations into self-improvement. Take a walk, start working out, learn Japanese, so when Pomu comes back you will be ready for her as a better man.

People can leave a job for various reasons. She never phrased it like she was unhappy with Nijisanji, that was just speculation from that members stream from May. Seemed a lot more like she felt she had outgrown Nijisanji and wanted a change in her life.

Also, regarding her income she made roughly $250,000 from superchats alone, $200,000 from memberships as a lowball estimate, and likely somewhere around $50,000-75,000 from streamlabs. All of these are after YT/Niji cuts. Add in merch and YT ad revenue and it's very easy to believe she made over $1,000,000 in 2 years.

She said herself she hardly ever spends money unless she's traveling. She went to Japan 4 times and Antarctica 1 time. She also released a few song covers and MV's but it was never an unreasonable amount by streamer standards. She lived with roommates for her whole time in Niji and never bought super expensive stuff except the Metal Gear Pachislot machine. She even had the same car from debut until graduation.

>> No.67162025

Well of course she's not going to phrase it like that because she's still under employment. Even when you're on your way out of a company and you hand in your notice, you leave in good terms. Even Mysta and Nina were the same. But let's not pretend and act like it was completely peaceful and it just so happened to be a simple creative clash. It's ALOT more than just the membership stream. You should know this.

Well it's all well and good making estimates based off superchats and merchandise sales we're not privy too but that doesn't remotely mean she's automatically a millionaire. I guess so, it is silly to debate but it's more just trying to make a point that she's very financially well off from being in Niji and has no reason to hold a grudge or be unhappy over her time there. It really was life-changing for her getting selected for Lazulight and she made sure to mention it all the time.

Because Pomu is a true idol otaku and understands the feelings of her fans. She never wanted to have distance between her and her community since she just saw herself as another fan. She did have a few talks about how dating bans for idols are stupid, but she was never projecting those feelings onto her community. On the contrary she often had parasocial jokes like demanding they can't watch any other streamers and shaming people she saw in someone else's chat. Of course it was all just tongue in cheek, but that just shows that she understands what her community wants since she was in the same position as a fan before. She never acted patronizing or put vtubers on a pedestal above the fans, and I love her for it.

Of course, catalogshitters took that and ran with it and now you have that one guy talking about Luca's cock nonstop or whatever but it's like you said, she always got it. Though not surprising considering she was a fan of vtubers long before coming into the company.

>> No.67164302

>>67164057
Her point about idol dating bans is that the person's private life and their character are separate. It doesn't matter if your oshi is dating someone because when they're on stage they're performing for (You). True idolfags understand this, they love idols for the smiles they bring and not because they want to have sex with them. Vtubers are the same; I never once considered whether Pomu might be dating someone or not because she simply never brought it up on stream and always made her fans a priority in her content. That was good enough for me, simply making her fans feel important and valued is better than superficially lying to them.

What this anon said >>67165209 + VShojo's culture is very fucking different from Nijis. Because NijiEN has so many people and keeps introducing more your first impression matters a whole fucklot and if you don't make a splash immediately you're probably settling into mediocrity. You're competing against like 30 other people if you debut now, and if you debuted early like when Nina did, then you were competing against more and more people as more were regularly added By contrast VShojo's stuck at a steady 11 people even if the means through which this was achieved are hilarious and when they debut someone it's a single person at a time so there's time for the audience to adjust and grow and there's very little cannibalization of one another's audiences. When Mata debuted I was worried she or Henya would suffer because they chose literally the exact same timeslot, but Mata just materialized a couple extra thousand viewers out of nowhere and Henya stayed steady the whole time.

tl;dr NijiEN can be a bit of a meat grinder at times while VShojo takes things slower. Too slow imo, but the streamers themselves have benefited from how slow they move.

I'm waiting. This void can't be filled by anyone other than her. I can't even open YT without starting to tear up seeing all the clips of her graduation and now dramafags going through her member vods and miliking them dry for views. Watching any other chuuba isn't fun like it was back before all this, now it's feels like a cheap dopamine hit that makes me feels worse afterwards.
I'll stay lurking on /vt/ to see if any updates come in but if Pomu decides that she's done with vtubing by either radio silence for like a year or outright saying it's over on her PL, then I'll stop watching vtubers and purge them off my recommendations.
I never want to be in this position again where the things I love are ripped out of my hands and I'm forced to just watch because I can't do anything about it.

Its stupid but this has really changed my perspective on life. Obviously it sucks that there’s nothing we can do to stop her leaving, but everything has to end, and theres almost nothing we can do about anything.
Maybe Im just depressed now

Honestly from a new pomudachis perspective. I saw that she was streaming AC6 and got pretty excited since I finished her MGS series, but there wasn't any love or passion in it. It felt clearly by episode 2 she was sort of stuck in it and told that she had to stream the entire thing which I thought it was weird. The vibe I got from her play through made me drop it cause I don't think she jived with flying and thought she could easily do something else. But she mentioned at one time she HAD to play through it or something somewhere. Confused the fuck out of me.

Take a vacation away from /vt/. I haven't fallen into any parasocial honeytraps but I've done something worst and that's lurk here everyday. Place is a shit hole a good 6 month break away from here will allow you to re-evaluate how much attention you should give places like these. It's a huge fucking time waster exactly the same as tik tok, social media apps. You won't die if you don't have human connection away from a cesspool. The way Pomu got treated on her graduation here disappointmented me immensely and I'm a Phase fan. Mika had a better farewell in comparison, too much trolling and bullshit for the Pomudachi's to go through.

it's because pomudachis kept begging her to play AC6 especially this one autistic guy that kept sending her blue superchats for weeks begging for AC6 and even up to her graduation kept sending supers talking about her AC6 streams. she just felt really loyal to her community, no one was actually forcing her to play it.

I know how you feel, anon. It's not easy. I only discovered Pomu after her graduation announcement. I'm typically just a clipfaggot, but got drawn in to Pomu for these last two weeks and... Now, it hurts. That little goddamned fairy believed in what she was doing with everything, and, despite my best efforts, for two weeks... Made me feel like maybe I could believe too.

I've only watched one stream, her FEAR finale, so I know nothing about her and only have a vague understanding of the circumstances of her graduation.
However the scattered mentions of "hololive next" makes me wonder how viable that option actually appears to those who know her better? Are people just maymaying? I was under the impression that, for someone like Pomu, jumping into hololive isn't so attractive a prospect considering she'd have to wait minimum 1 year before she could get 3D etc. Considering how long she's been at this already, would she want to wait longer, even if it is assured at some point? Didn't the guy that jumped to vshojo get a 3d model within a month or two?

Mind you if you're into that kind of stuff, getting into holo means being able to perform with the others in idol things like Fes etc. I've seen scattered accounts that Pomu's an idol fag(?), and for that holo is basically the only relevant name in town.
What do her fans think is her most viable course of action?
What do you think she wants to do?
What is (you)r most preferred course of action she should take?

Pomu is an idolfag, but she doesn't want to be an idol.
She likes singing idol songs, but only for fun and doesn't want to take it seriously.
She wants to cheer for idols and enjoy idols, but not be one herself.
If she applied to Hololive, could she get in and do well? Probably, but I don't think she wants to - she has too many self-confidence issues.
She's also very much fed up with JP permissions faggotry, thanks in no part to how fucking incompetent Anycolor's management is. So I highly doubt she'll join another JP corpo's EN branch.

If/when she decides to reincarnate, it'll either be Vshojo or going indie. I don't think she wants to be self-managed, she definitely wants a manager who has vtuber-related knowledge and connections who can help her with things like organizing merch, reaching out to people for commissions, etc. And given how she's most certainly burned on copos (after how dirty Anycolor did her), I don't think she wants to join an actual corpo, even if they are western-based. So I'm leaning more towards Vshojo. Not because of the people in the group, but because what the group can offer her.
But personally, I just want her to be happy, and to hear and see her streaming again.

I think after Pomu graduated, I kind of wanna stop coming here in general to be honest. The constant bait threads about Pomu was one thing and so were the threadreaders who never watched her that constantly ate that shit up. But after she left, it kind of made me reflect and realize this place is shit and not worth it and it will never get any better. Not with how much jannies encourage it.
And even after graduation, now we've moved onto the new thing to shitpost about and the cycle continues. This place poisons your mind and makes your hate vtubers and think the worst of most of them (sometimes deserved) and I almost did the same with Pomu.
I wish there was a good alternative but reddit is a sanitized hugbox and discord turns into it's own little popularity contest. Maybe it's the grief and regret talking.

The secret to enjoying this board is just staying in your own split for your oshi and never look at anywhere else. These places tend to have much less schizos than something like /nijiEN/ or the catalog. Straight up is not a bad idea but like you said, Discord is just a popularity contest in the end. It's hard to use it in any serious capacity.
