Not that anon, but Japanese is not a "naturally" gentler language, nor is it tonally flat. Yakuza and working class people from Osaka are natural examples of "rougher" speech. There's a lot of particles (yo ze), slurred vowels (au ee), and alternate words (taberu kuu) to express a less gentle and more rough speaking style. It's not uncommon for talents to need breaks for various reasons. I think being reclined is a cultural thing, but the Japanese language can and does have ways to express more open, forward, and sometimes rude behavior. HSKW and Gunmichi streams are a good example. Actually Gunmichi anything is a good example. There are also non-2434 examples, like Geinin Ryoudan, where they're generally more coarse when they speak. From my own experience as a language learner and growing up bilingual, any "personality change" is either because I'm trying to fit a certain cultural standard associated with that language, or I just don't know how to express myself more freely/in a non-standard, non-polite way.
