The "Non Disclosure" in "NDA" means "Do not disclose".
It does not mean "Don't disclosure except to people you, like, super-duper trust. It's cool bro".

It's a literal slippery slope fallacy if you have half a brain and think about the things she could have leaked.

To put it short, they are given clear instructions in the contract to not leak things. Yes, they probably leak it all the time but officially if they're caught they're breaching the contract. She did it and got caught. She admitted she messed up. Yes, it's sad, but those are the rules and you can't just give someone a get out of jail free card and expect things to run smoothly in the future. Retard.

Yes, my friends and I (same industry, different employers) often talk shop and exchange this kind of information. I know about the rough comings-and-goings of adjacent companies, as do they about mine. It's extremely common here, and while we're not privy to super-classified info we do exchange info that could have minor worldwide repercussions if shared with a journalist or a direct competitor.

The fact that people do this ALL THE TIME (and do you really think celebrity streamers, of all people, don't gossip?) makes the Mel situation even more infuriating. It sounds like she confided in someone she thought she could trust, vented about some situation at work that was weighing on her, under the IMPLICIT UNDERSTANDING that person would keep it to themselves, and what did they do? Snitch directly to Mel's employer. Then Mel's employer fired her, cause muh corpo culture + muh Japan.

Coco didn't do anything wrong, she just pissed off the entire chinese fanbase because... they're retards, but they were so numerous and would spam streams of other talents just for collabing with Coco that both Coco and Cover made the decision to announce her graduation.

In this case Mel leaked things she shouldn't have. Just for your information, most of the firings that happen have no serious reason (called just cause) unless someone steals or act with violence or starts skipping work, the firing is an unjust cause, in most countries you don't need a reason as long as you pay the severance clauses but just causes are like 1% of firings and if that's necessary to fire someone it becomes virtually impossible, as long as the employee doesn't want to be fired.

Japanese judicial precedent has established the practice that the following four factors should be met: (a) necessity of decreasing the number of employees; (b) necessity of adopting the “unilateral termination of employment contract” method as a means of employment adjustment; (c) adequate selection of the employees whose employment contracts are to be terminated; and (d) adequacy of the termination procedure. That's my take on it anyway. A one-time mistake in the heat of a moment is not cause for termination, but consistent behavior even when you were told in no uncertain terms what the consequences are? That's something a company has to deal with, otherwise internal rules lose all credibility.

No one fucking asked you if you could or couldn't care less, you don't sign her paychecks. But for me that's not even the big issue. If she fucked up so bad (or that often) they could've just express graduated her cause of "personal reasons", "creative differences", whatever. You'd think sticking with the company through all the shit for 6 years would earn her that. Did it for fucking homos after all.
