Bosses do get more health depending on the number of players so it's not like it's a walk in the park. While their aggro is usually stuck on one person for a while they often swap aggro at points so it's not perfectly safe, and if everyone dies that's still like what, 30 seconds that the sole person has to stay alive? It's just that with more people it's easier to rotate death timers.

In hardmode the Crimson, Corruption (Crimsons counterpart (Cam first though)) and Hallow (Spawns in hardmode) spread. Hallow isnt harmful but the other two can and will spread over the jungle.
This used to be a problem since the evil biomes would turn the mud in the jungle into dirt, making it very hard to fix everything, but one of the recent updates made it so it stays mud and is therefore much easier to manage. Still a huge pain in the ass though.

Corruption & Crimson biomes spread slowly though limited in pre-hardmode. Once hardmode begins, it begins spreading in a more serious way, and also the Hallowed biome will appear & spread as well. (But the Hallow is cool so that's okay)

The red areas of the game will start spreading once they hit hardmode, there's alot of ways to revert the corruption, but the usual method is to make a long hole between areas to prevent/minimize the spread which is what they're doing right now.

the Dao of Pow is also pretty good, it has nearly the same amount of damage and the confusion effect is surprisingly good in early hardmode when you don't want to be overwhelmed by mobs.
maces are fine imo but the problem is that there are few of them so there are some gaps in progression.

I wonder if theyll ever learn of Terrarias customization with dye and whatnot.
