I think I figured out what happened:
All generations until 4 made the transition to wvt because there were two wvt: the front desk and the back alley.
front desk wvt was more welcoming to males because it was extremely slow and bumps helped it out, meanwhile the real nasty shit was going on trash. Males were hated there since the beginning, but by the time male vtubers were ready to make their second transition to trash wvt they were already stablished and couldnt be bullied out. This was known as the aspie invasion.

However, sometime after lig was created, the backalley collapsed on itself and wvt moved to the frontdesk as a whole.
The real nasty schizos also surfaced and most gen4s werent mentally prepared for the hellish fire that was trash, so they escaped to mvp
This project failed but it made clear they werent welcome in wvt, so they retreated back to asp, and now you all live here instead of moving out. Now female chuubas also started refusing to move to wvt, since all the important wvt vtubers already moved to lig anyway, and this became the new wvt.
The situation spiraled out of control and stuff like sig and bvg were developed to contain it, but still, why move when you already got a home here?

Now, we reach critical point: females eventually grow and stop posting, so this became generation after generation of males aspies pilling on top of each other, and homosexual groomers took notice and moved from cbdct and niji threads to her trying to find a naive twink still not sure of his sexuality to fuck.

Now this a thread no longer gives advice, so new vtubers posts actually get lost in the sea of erping and older generations drama.

No, I do mean the SM57. As I understand it, the difference between the two would be the ball grille which basically serves as a built in pop filter, with the same cartridge design and such. I also like to do music stuff, so I would imagine it would be easier to push an SM57 into the role of a vocal mic by putting a pop filter over it (or not, emphasizing plosives for comedic effect) than to push an SM58 into the role of an instrument mic. Really the thing I'm concerned about is whether or not the difference vs. the blue yeti (which I got as a gift several years ago) is legitimately worth it.

I've used both the Blue Yeti (Nano) and currently using a Shure SM57. I'm not an audio expert but here's my take on both of them for any aspiring streamers here.

The Blue Yeti is a USB mic. You just plug it in and then it works. Dead simple. It sounds good as well. It's the preferred choice of Youtube content folk and people who spend too much time on Discord. The downside IMO is that because it's a condenser mic (which a lot of people don't really know about) it is extremely sensitive. If you live in a noisy area/house and care about privacy I would probably stay away from a Blue Yeti. Oh and if you want to show off at an online meeting? Blue Yeti's got you,

The SM57, despite being called an instrument mic, is great for vocal stuff. This is literally the microphone of choice for a lot of politicians. It's well priced BUT you do need to get an audio interface for it which well set you back more monetarily. But it's damn great and quite frankly is a lot more practical than the SM7B. If you do end up with a cardioid mic though I would highly recommend getting a pop cover or filter.

Self replying here but I also just want to stress this; You do not need a SM7B or a super expensive microphone to sound good. In fact, I think the SM7B has less practicality than the Blue Yeti and SM57. It seems cumbersome to set up and the thing looks like it's meant to be an anti-drone shell or just a conversation piece.

I know a streamer who has a really cheap USB mic but with a lot of filters makes it sound 100 times better than it does. Audio is wizardry. It can be confusing but anyone can dip their toes into it and come out with some nice results.
