Mostly because solo Neuro seems kind of near a dead end and improvements are incremental.

In general I think it does best with collabs but with other vtubers who react more than Vedal does. Vedal, knowing everything there is to know and having spent so many hours 'chatting' with her, is rarely surprised by his creation, but other rando chuubas sometimes are taken aback by it.

Most people who dislike Vedal have never really sat through 50+ hours of pure Neuro in the early days.

Neuro speaks non-stop. She speaks at least 4-5 times more than the average streamer does per hour. She barely takes time to think, she almost never laughs, doesn't ask chat for opinions on random stuff, and doesn't stay on any topic longer than a minute without an actual human being interacting with her. At one point, it dulls your senses because your brain can't really keep up with her words anymore, and she becomes just white noise to you.

Vedal talking to her makes her feel human. He forces her to stay on topic, keeps asking when she's distracted, and tries to work with her when she's incoherent. He makes her more digestible to the exhausted viewers. Some people may not like his personality, but without him, they'd hate her for a different reason instead.

Vedal or a good collab partner is essential to Neuro. Neuro would not be this successful without him consistently talking to her.
