most of the top vtubers do like their fanbase or at least tolerate them, fuwamoco might be the exception, as they really do you love to their audience. However, most actually love the money their fans give them the most. The ones where it's confirmed they hate their audience, it's gura (makes empty promises without hesitation and ghosts her audience), kronnii (openly shows her disgust, even said she would only any of her fans touch her with how much they gross her out), and a bunch of entitled 3 views and below (hate their audience because they don't donate enough money) hate their audience.

"Hates their fanbase" is probably mostly a split between the love of getting high on the attention of thousands / millions and the hate for the indirect association with low status losers. Suspect most would, if they could, keep their viewer numbers but switch out their viewers.

In Holo EN only Gura, Ame, Kronii outright hate their fanbases. Mori and Kiara don't hate their fans but there's certainly some resentment there for having to entertain them. They're more interested in what the fans can do for them than what they can do for the fans.

You could probably boil it down to a popularity:streaming ratio. High pop, low stream = hates fans and low pop, high stream = loves fans. Of course you'd also have to control for recency because newer members will stream more.
