I've been here since the start. Pre-debut. Fell in love with Elira in her first few Minecraft streams and liked all Lazulight more generally. I don't think I can say anything that hasn't already been said. One Ryuguard said it best I think. Pomu was the heart of NijiEN. She put every ounce of herself in the projects she created. The space she will leave is so massive and can never be filled or replaced - not that it should be. Pomu did so much not just for english vtubing as a whole but just for vtubing in general. Things will never be the same again.

Pomudachis, I love you. I know I was critical of Pomu at times because of MGS brainrot but I still loved her. I've been here since the beginning. I was here for love at first light, I was here for big pomu energy, and I was here for fish and chips anyone?? I'll never forget all the memories we've had together.

Man this is a weird feeling, I'm a total stranger to this hobby. I don't use this board and I never cared about vtubers. But a couple of years ago I somehow ran across a pomu video and something about voice caught my attention.

I've been listening to her on and off ever since then. I don't watch her streams I don't interact I don't know anything about vtubing in general. I just fell in love with her voice and personality.
It was soothing to listen to her after a hard day. I knew vtubers all eventually quit but I had no idea it would end so soon.

Here's the thing though. The sadness doesn't come from them leaving the company. It comes from all of the good/fun memories you associate with the talent, model, and aesthetic. Maybe it was that time you said a joke in chat as a grey name and they laughed, or you said something nice and they showed genuine gratitude... The time something wild or funny happened during a stream or collab and you were there with them to relish in the moment... Or maybe the time during a membership stream when they got overwhelmed emotionally and introspective, and you were there to remind them they are loved.
I'm glad that Pomu is free to pursue her own independent ventures now, but it does suck that I won't get to see her regularly collab with other NijiENs that I enjoy watching anymore. It's still a small price to pay for her happiness. I may have to say goodbye to my oshi, but at least I still have my kamioshi for the time being. I'm still going to miss the quirky, noseless fairy.
