That was kinda the idea. Towa and Anon are two isolated and alienated people who find joy in each other. I wanted to communicate this sensation that their bond could be just as easily be disintegrated as it was forged by the very same winds of fate. That each moment was a genuine effort to preserve it and that each moment of tenderness itself was a victory against the world.
Funny enough I had written Anon to be more angry and frustrated with life. If you ever listened to American Idiot by Green Day I'd compare him to St. Jimmy. But I quickly scrapped it when I realized Towa wouldn't associate with such a person. So I wrote him instead to be more numb, someone okay with drifting so long as he was alive. Until he met the devil at the crossroads so to speak.

I had actually scrapped a bunch of scene concepts in the Fall. Including an arcade date, and a scene where Towa introduces Bibi. Although that wasn't the contest's fault but my own self-consciousness about overwriting. It happened to fall under the word count so I submitted it. I had considered scrapping the smoking subplot as well. While I never planned on a longer timeskip sequence, I think you have a point in that I could have been more retrospective or even made the reading assume a bad ending.

Finger injuries are common when playing guitar, bleeding/blisters are pretty common for beginners. The idea is that Anon played for hours and I wanted to scene of intimacy to show the growth of their relationship.

It just feels "wrong" in my head but I will admit, I want to see it written because at the end of the day, curiosity got the better of me and I genuinely would do what Polka is doing if it meant I could get what I want.

Well you might be happy to know that the Polka in my story would never keep something from Anon if it was clearly making him sad or hurt. Their relationship is built on a foundation of sharing something precious with one another that is a unique experience for her race. While the original intent might be a tad selfish from Polka's end, at the end of the day she knows her man, and knows they both will enjoy the potential outcome. Anon is also a big softie at times and Polka knows he can't resist a chance to change things for the better without violence. While also knowing that if he has to wrestle the dogs a little he will enjoy that just as much.
That's not to say that maybe eventually Polka might be a little selfish when it comes to the twins, especially in the case where she prefers to pamper fuwawa while mococo is left with you and turns ravenous if she is without her backseating handler.
Also, the scenario itself could turn out in any number of ways for all I know at the moment. A lot of things will play into it that I might not have even written yet.

Like everyone is 90% accurate but it's like you were adapting their personalities from a non-existent manga adaptation of the characters rather than directly from streams; which leads to them being a bit more 'lore-colored' than I'm used to... especially since they're all from gen 4 which is up there in having the least lore connection characterization wise. Combine that with everyone feeling like their guided by their non-existent dicks makes this entire series just feel weird character wise.
