people confused "dox" to just mean "past life" for anything in part because the EN vtubing sphere really only kicked off with Holo Myth, of which, many of them had a past that was not vtubing so would inherently drag a bunch of non-vtuber stuff into the conversation. thing is I think besides Sana by the time of Council they were all former vtubers already and all of Advent were also vtubers already. Now that the scene has been around a few years and there is some turnover of people graduating/reincarnating it's not really so weird to discuss anymore because it's just gonna keep happening as people quit corpos and are forced to lose those old identities and make new ones.
