Don't lump me in with unicorn shit, the song is literally garbage, the song is supposed to be a different idol song as form of critics to idol culture to fit the anime, there is nothing wrong with that except the result is musically garbage, take Proud Idol for example it has similar theme but it was successful, the only positive thing from music perspective that I can say about Yoasobi Idol is that their use of instrument is okay but everything the lyrics is too forced and with some rap which they probably think "oh rap is unusual for idol song and it's le cool so let's add it" it's just all over the place, there are reasons why even Sora directly said she doesn't like the song, it was rare for her to said something like that or you want to say that Sora doesn't know her shit?

Yoasobi's modus operandi is to write a story within the lyrics, they do it for their own songs, they do the same with anime songs, except they write it from the perspective of someone in the show. They did it for Gundam(the OP song they did for G-witch hinted at the big plot twist in the show).
Its the same with Idol which was for Oshi no Ko. The entire song is about the character Ai in the show, first its her as seen from external audience perspective, the rap is from the members in the same idol group as Ai, then the song goes to Ai's perspective.
The dark side of idol industry shit? That came from the anime, Yoasobi was paid to write an opening song for the anime, they delivered.

I think it's more that the theme is very aggressive. The idol and the fans being two-faced and the harsh words through the lyrics.
