Youtube takes 30% from every SC, after that the streamer and Cover split the rest (according to Coco) so roughly 35% of a SC goes to the streamer and then gets taxed.

That said, for the lowest earners sometimes Cover doesn't take a cut and some have when it's time to renew contracts negotiate slightly better cuts. They all apparently get salary too though I don't imagine it's anything impressive.

Twitch deletes videos after a month, while youtube never deletes videos due to age or low traffic.

A lot of people take it for granted what youtube does but it's actually very expensive to do what youtube offers. Google spent years driving out competitors in the video market by offering vastly superior services to content producers and consumers, but the cost was that they operated youtube at a loss to be able to offer a superior service. Now that they have a captive market they're able to make money off of it. That's why you've been getting so many ads for youtube premium lately, and why you have to watch an ad every 2 minutes now. It's a long term game that is now coming to fruition for Google.

She's insanely rich now. Have you looked at vtuber superchat numbers? For example, Pekora did a stream like two weeks ago that lasted 76 minutes, she got like close to $21,7k in superchats alone. So close to $5 every second. Of course, both Youtube and Hololive take a significant cut, but even then, those numbers are insane.

That's one single stream, and a very short one at that, considering how most streamers do 4-8h days
