By that dating method the oldfags have been gone since 2014 at the latest. That tracks honestly. But it means the site is something other than what it started as (Theseus ship and all that). I know from researching the history of the site that the general culture and feel was different pre-2012 because literally the only people /here/ were the genuine first-adopters of anime and hyper-nerds and it was socially illegal to like it back then, but regardless their legacy still remains, namely that this is one of the best places to post and discuss anime titties.

It turned out to be a lot more fun than I expected because I play a lot of single player games and now if I ever want to relive the adventure I can. Sometimes someone will stop by and chat but my biggest worry is copyright strikes. (Copyright claims are fine, don't care.)

It wasn't at the start. If I had been more into anime when I was younger I would have grown up on this website, so I imagine that 13-year old me thought more or less along the same lines as most oldfags did back then, and "being shitty for lulz" wasn't part of it.

However, that is a part of the site's culture now, because there are always enough idiots on the internet at any given time to milk them for (You)s with ragebait (on any site, this just happens to be shitposting central).

I'm not gunna lie, its gotten a bit dull as I've gotten older, but trolling is still a decent enough pastime, and a great way to relieve the stress this shitty society puts me through.
