Against all odds, the devs seems to have figured out how to make a fun, roguelite citybuilder game.

To describe it a bit, you are this pioneer-type person who the Queen sends out to establish settlements out in the world.
While managing a settlement, the Queen sends you randomized orders that you need to achieve as part of satisfying her.
Each settlement is different depending on the place you select out in the world map and this will determine the terrain, boons, and obstacles you'll have during that particular mission.
Once in the settlement map, you'll need to build structures that harvest resources by assigning people to them, shelter for your people, and other improvements to your settlement.
There are foggy, mystery areas in the settlement map called "Glades" and you reveal these by cutting some of the trees surrounding them so that the area is opened. Glades can contain random resource nodes, but also various events and challenges, like potential townfolk you can recruit, buildings you can repair, caves you can explore, and many others that you'll have to discover for yourself.
Once you get the settlement self-sufficient, you let go of your current settlement and return back to the city to spend any resources on upgrades before heading out again and establishing another settlement.

All this takes place in a fantasy world under the effects of a never-ending storm, which contributes to the unique game mechanics of the game.

I think it'd be a bad idea to hype it up, but it should be silly enough.
Part of the problem is the game asks for modest player skill in a variety of situations, and Mococo runs into walls randomly when she tries to do anything precise and especially-so when panicking.

Also Shiori isn't here to attempt to stick around Mococo, which is a substantial loss to entertainment potential when Shiori gets ganked and screams and goes silent, leaving Mococo trying to figure out what happened and running around like a headless chicken.
