Any good way of balancing advertising yourself without being part of the beginner level vtubing community?
Like I dont mind saying I'm going to be a vtuber or whatever (pre debut or whatever) while I stream in prep. But at the same time I really don't want to be part of the entry level community that are acting like high school girls.

>I just want to keep twitter posting strictly professional, maybe some humor posting and replies but none of this annoying drama dumpage all the entry levels do.
Literally just do this. Post about yourself, maybe some memes, follow people you like, just be a normal account. As your model starts to be built up, maybe post some updates about it, get people noticing that you're an up-and-coming vtuber. Like post sketches, final drawings, then some videos showing off the rigging and you playing around with it.

Eventually do an introductory post, greeting everyone, briefly explaining your gimmick/character, a bit about your personality, maybe what streams you'll be making. From there keep teasing people with your model in action, some voice clips perhaps, up until you've figured out your debut schedule, in which case you should start daily tweeting about the countdown to your debut/first stream.

Stay away from drama, at most retweet or like memes, and mostly just keep updating people about your streams. Also be sure to use hashtags to help people find you. No joke, tons of streamers use these tags to find fellow new chuubas, ESPECIALLY on introductory posts. I'm shocked at how many people viewed my post all because I included #ENVtuber in it.

There's no shame in making sure your twitter is all about your self promotion. BUT WHATEVER YOU DO, don't be one of those people constantly shilling yourself in popular vtuber's comment sections. Everyone despises that. Grow your audience slowly and naturally, because people will come.

But I love all these female designs. I like the female archetypes. And while sure I could ignore it and do it anyways, it'd be terrible.

Honestly just utilize hashtags as well as showing off your model. All your posts should probably have the #VtuberEN or #ENVtuber hashtag (#Vtuberuprising seems to be doing numbers lately). Making an intro post is usually a good idea, like a "Hi I'm ___ and I'm a new vtuber!" post for example. Thread was dying (at least when I started typing) so have a drunk post to rev this back up - I've been thinking about this and honestly, as long as there isn't too many obligations that come with this (and there shouldn't be because they'll easily make the cost back through just from crypto bullshit) this shouldn't be that bad a deal. The biggest downside is that it's a pre-baked model and it comes with associations that can be both a blessing and a curse.

From what I've seen of the debuts of affiliated talents (namely TIlde), they at least put in some effort to assist with the technical side like getting set up for streaming, as well as marketing (in typical /biz/ fashion). This isn't to the level of the better agencies around, but despite not even being an agency, from what I've seen they can definitely do better than some of the shit-tier agencies AG comes to mind
Not saying this is going to suit many posters here given the pre-baked model, but I can definitely think of at least one noteable example of someone not being able to afford a model themselves and signing into a bad contract instead, so there's surely somebody that it would work out for.

If you don't have a FAMOUS artist and rigger, your debut is not going to be as good as you hope.

Sorry, but having to be blunt.

You might get some traction on Twitter, but you don't have ANY extended content for people to like. Even avatarless streaming would provide something for fans to get excited by.

Sure, you'll see Irys and other Holos get 20,000 YT subs out of nowhere, but you'd probably need da Vinci to draw, and Brian to rig for you get anywhere close to that as an indie.

I would very strongly recommend streaming and building a small following beforehand. Perhaps, just as a png of someone under a sheet, like the attached, that you can pull back in the debut. But I'd be surprised if you can use a hype purely on twitter beforehand.

Out of interest, what's your follower counts on Twitter/Twitch?

The recording sounds a little thin, try placing the microphone a little closer to you.

For your voice, are you reading something off a script? Your cadence is a little halting, making it a little unclear where the sentence is going. I think the pace is good, you're not speaking too fast, which is a common pitfall a lot of people fall into. Try opening your mouth wider when you speak. Correct, that's going to be the biggest obstacle for whoever gets chosen. You're going to get a lot of unwarranted flack for it, and you don't get to design the model you'll be VA'ing. I think singing or rapping to yourself while playing a game could be endearing, so don't try to repress that too much.

As far as your singing goes, I see what you mean, though. You would need to do a lot of work to get and stay on pitch. That's definitely a learnable skill though, so don't despair that you're not there currently. It might be hard without someone offering you real-time feedback, though. You'd want to listen to a pitch, sing it back long and sustained, and then play back your own recording to confirm the match. If you have trouble hearing if you're matching, that could be difficult on your own.

One thing you can control now is your breathing, though. Make sure you're sitting up straight, and taking deep, diaphragmatic breaths. This will help center your pitch, as well. It may be that your lung capacity isn't very good right now, which would make sense if you've never really had to use it before.

You don't need to be a singer, but if you want to work on it, there's lots of self teaching resources you can work with online to start before seeking out an instructor.

Do let yourself sing while playing though, I think that's fun. Good luck, anon!

Gura is a loli but clothed enough that she's not overtly sexualized in her design. it's only a problem when you slap them in a microbikini and start drawing attention to it.

I don't like Gura, but she does it fairly well.
The problem is loli voices just don't work well with English so it just always comes off terrible and awkward, on top of anyone with a loli avatar always being extremely cringe.

There's a few other minor exceptions, but its better to play it like nyanners and instead of a loli just play a flat chested petite girl so the older voice doesn't mismatch with the model and she's not having to force a shitty squeeky voice.

also pedos get the rope.

Debi is literally always in character.
Mito uses it as a persistent meta joke.
Roa was always in character before she died.
Rin is always in character as an autistic school girl.
I want to assume Tamaki is in character, but she might actually just be brain damaged.
Hima mostly stays in character I assume.
Chaika stays, and he's pretty far out there.
Eli sticks in char most the time, given its mostly just screeches and funny noises, but still. She never goes normal.

And that's just the ones I watch.

I appreciate the bluntness and I can kinda see, but I'm prepared to have 2 people max watching my stream, cause I'm mostly doing it for friends. I'm also the type that can't help but get stuck with an idea in my head until I do it, and the one I have in mind really would not work if I took that long to pull it off (or at least wouldn't be as fun to me). My plan is just getting that debut out of the way so I can just do the stream part, but I wouldn't be satisfied until I did this the way I envisioned it.
Sorry if it seems like I'm ignoring the advice, I just really would prefer to do it for myself than do something half baked in my eyes. Besides, I already got most of my stuff ready for it and it'll still be relatively amateurish, its not like I'm putting a lot of money into this.

I gave it a watch for, like, 20 minutes until I got pulled away. Your voice is easy to listen to so that's a bonus, though I can't really say the stream itself was super interesting. I don't know if you did anything else afterwards but the rhythm boxing probably isn't something you want to stream for long long periods on stream unless you're doing something that at least looks super impressive, because as it's a VR game you can't really even respond to chat as you do it. A Thrill of the Fight sort of deal which is in shorter, more exciting bursts might be better for the boxing experience, though I might be biased as I was sort of planning to try that one on stream.

I can't definitively say "yes" if only because I haven't seen enough streams of either to know, but, again, that was my own plan for VR streams as it's in short bursts so you can easily talk with chat between matches or even between rounds if you're quick, but it's also pretty exciting while you're doing it. My own plan was to combine it as well with a heart rate monitor so people can see just how much of an unathletic dumdum I am, but that's probably just me thinking a little too hard.
