Out of curiosity, how long did it take for HoloEn (except Gura) to stabilize in subgrowth? And by stabilize I mean something like below 10k per week. I kinda want to see if IRyS has a shot at 1mil by end of the year if she follows the average curve that Holomyth had.

My prediction for IRyS has changed a bit. I was thinking yesterday that she will probably be in the middle (average popularity for Holo EN) in terms of popularity after the honeymoon phase; however, there are certain factors to consider.
Advantages:
1. It’s a single VTuber with all of Holo EN viewers going to her channel, rather than a release of 5 new girls. That in itself is a major boost, especially to subs. Most Holo EN viewers are subbing to her for now.
2. She sings decent. Her music is better than Mori, but not better than Gura (my opinion). Mori has higher subs than you would expect her to have, likely because of her music uploads. That bonus also goes to IRyS now. This will help to retain viewers in the long run. Also YouTube LOVES music uploads, and gives major subs to channels that do it.
3. Even though her older VTubing stuff doesn’t seem too great to me, it all under a Hololive label now, which is going to give more of a boost than I intentionally expected. The Cover boost is crazy.

Overall she might even end up second to Gura after she comes down a bit from the boost you get for being new. We shall see I guess.

This is less of a problem given their size and the time zone spread of the demographic. Coco was talking about Hololive's hard cap on the roster in the YAGOO interview, and he said there is no hard cap, but that is obviously false and the hard cap is decided by time and the size of the audience. HoloJP's audience is not big enough for the amount that they have streaming at times.

Judging by HoloJP current viewership, I believe the optimum size for the EN branch is no greater then 24, preferably less than16. Given that viewership has already sort of stabilized, adding too many will only end up impacting the group negatively.

The more important change going forward is having the talents have more variety in terms of regular content besides their particular talent specialties.

That question is EXACTLY why I think IRyS will ultimately end up in 2nd place for Holo EN. In my opinion, besides Gura, the others don’t stand out enough. Ina has good live views, but some consider her boring. Mori has good subs, but comes off awkward and weird during collabs. Overall, they aren’t as exciting as they should be (my opinion). I think IRyS should stand out a bit more, and ultimately hold some of that extra attention as well. And if you compare IRyS to Ame (who you also mentioned), IRyS speaks Japanese and can sing decently, and was decently successful in her past.

Overall I raised expectations for IRyS a bit, but that might just be a problem with Holo EN in general. Meaning, it is in need of greater talent. If it already had it, then maybe IRyS wouldn’t do as well. I think she stands out a bit. I think she could be 2nd.

It's actually pretty incredible how timezones don't seem to matter for holoJP viewers. Marine is now streaming minecraft at 7am JST to 12k (will probably end up being ~15k). Watame, Kanata, and Flare sometimes stream all night and their viewership increases to 10k+. I don't want to say it, but Gura is the textbook definition of a lazy streamer that yolos her streams. She's cute and entertaining enough that a lot of people still tune in, but at a certain point people expect slightly competent gameplay after the 10th minecraft stream. Her building ability, creativity, and knowledge of the game are among the worst in the entirety of Hololive, next to Calli who is definitely the worst. People tune into watching Kanata struggle for a blue axolotl, but Gura can't even get to a state where she can even breed one. Everything of value on the EN server is built by Ina and Ame.
