I thought she was supposed to be an EN Vsinger under Hololive English. She's just a JP Vsinger that happens to speak English. Who are they expecting to watch her streams?

Currently in EN no one USUALLY streams in that slot, at least not on the regular.

Gura streams a few hours earlier.

Ame sometimes streams later (10pm PST start time for late-night minecraft), and Ame also streams a few hours earlier than Gura on the regular.

My rrats for this are:

>Kiara's early debut approach: During her debut period Kiara schedule was always on jp prime time or middle of the day for jp despite she also mostly spoke english (but it was obvious she wanted to speak japanese). It took her a while to realize she needs to stream in friendly hours for westies, because her numbers were worse than now during those hours (At one point she only peaked at 1k).
>She will not have long streams: Assuming she or Cover will take the Vsinger tag seriously, her non-singing streams will probably last an hour or less since is not the main focus...but that singing stream date...yikes

The requirementa were apparently living in japan, speaking japanese, being successful, and knowing someone at cover. She got in solely through a combination of proximity, bilingualism, being Mel's friend and a youtube glitch she may have not have mentioned was a glitch. She disn't actually have the talent, and everything else qualifies her to be a translator more than an entertainer.

As an entertainment seeker, I feel incredibly shortchanged. EN is like some low quality bootleg of JP, except it's officially sanctioned.

Yes and no. Many newcomers have zero attachment to JP pop culture and they went in expecting something catering to THEIR tastes, which is to say typical American drivel. They didn't get that, but what this is about - Japanese culture in English. Which is precisely what actual fans want. Obviously to us the fact she sings in Japanese is a bonus. It's not like she won't be singing in English either, but any deviation from the US cultural mindset upsets Americans since they can't handle new stimuli. They are like an exotic inbred bird on an island in the middle of nowhere, and anything that isn't known to them upsets them.

>> No.6391828

>>6391750
Basically.

>>6391776
Build popularity early so you can have a foundation to later have integrity. The argument is that Integrity is worthless if you're only touting it to 5 people. They already went through that with AZKi (and to a lesser degree, Suisei, although Suisei has always done some game streams as far as I can remember).

Suisei has always used gaming as a way to build her audience, and is decent at it too to boot.

If you check her archives, you can see Undertale VODS from 2019, and she's always been very competent in Tetris, to the point where they're pretty much part Zatsudan since she can pretty much autopilot into the top 20 of any standard Tetris 99 lobby.

>>6391849
Gura, unlike Suisei and Mori, joined Hololive as a streamer with some singing talent and probably didn't have nearly the level of aspirations that some of the other Holomem have in this regard.

I'm certain that one of the (4? not sure if this includes reflect or not) songs Gura is working on is an English original, but given just how many different people she has to interact with, it's going to be slow going. There's mixing, lyrics, MV, etc. In comparison Suisei/Mori, who are able to do more of the process themselves and have more contacts in the JP music industry, are able to put out far more original music and covers as a result.

There are loopholes. For example, involuntary dual citizenship is fine in Japan, such as in the case of marriage to somebody automatically and involuntarily granting you citizenship in the spouse's country.

So you're saying because of the Hololive's talents limited connections to making music is what determines what kind of music they put out?

>> No.6392659

>>6392297
Technically yes, but in practice, it can be a more complex issue than that. In her case, I believe she gets by due to the fact that she's a hafu, and Japan doesn't actively enforce the law that requires people with dual citizenship to relinquish one of their nationalities.

I'd argue that if one of the Talents went from meme-tier music with talent to wanting to make serious original singles, they'd have to do one of tow things

1. Go through Cover. From what multiple hololive members have mentioned it's first-come-first-serve, so there's a pretty significant waiting time just to set things up.

2. Out of pocket. Talents have the freedom to use their own funds to commission things so they don't have to go through the waiting-game at Cover.

As for the TYPE of music they put out, that one is almost certainly up to the Talents themselves. Some are going to be restricted by their own talent and some will CHOOSE certain styles because they like them.
Limited connections are more likely to cause cost/time issues than affect the kind of music than determine the kind of music they put out, but to say that it has no affect on it would be stupid.

I don't think there's anyone in Hololive that has connections to American/English music industry types, whereas Suisei/Azki/Mori/Sora and some of the other hololive members do have industry connections.

Yeah I didn't watch her debut because I think the idea of a vsinger is dumb and her design is ugly, but she's really making sure I never give her a chance. EST is home to the most important cities in the world and she really should be including that in her schedules, and if she's so careless as to mess up the dates on her first schedule ever I can only imagine how sloppy and unprofessional the rest of her productions will be.

There's a large patch available for early/mid-afternoon ET, which would also serve Late Morning PT. This is actually a pretty untapped market for EOPs as ID doesn't really stream much in this time block, either.

>EN is like some low quality bootleg of JP

Yes it is, and you better get used to it. The most importance will always come first and foremost to the main JP branch. the EN branch is secondary, it is by no means going to get equal resources, it is just a money plug. You'll be lucky if they get home 3d, let alone studio 3d. there simply aren't the progression prospects in EN that there are in JP. They will never have talents used to air commercials on American TV, certainly not during prime time. They will never be invited to American tv shows. There will never be major collabs with supermarket chains and restaurants for hololive goods. They are literally a streamer only group, while JP is a group meant to appear in Japanese media. Of course cover will focus on JP more.
