It's clear that they wanted a standout design that looks good on static promotional material. Which it honestly does, in my opinion. The problem is that the design doesn't translate well into Live2D at all and is really out of place alongside the other girls. This should've been apparent very early on and whoever approved the design after seeing the Live2D at Cover is a moron. It's not the fault of the artist, or rigger, but simply Cover being unwilling to reject the design and instead push out something shitty due to already being committed to it.
Where is Kakage's design, anyways? A few tweaks to it and it would've fit the whole "Nephilim" schtick they're going with, while being infinitely more Live2D friendly and not jarringly out of place with the rest of Hololive.

It was ill thought out and rushed. They were super stingy and didn't want to bear the cost of getting it right, so they just went with whatever was most cost effective. Nothing went back to the drawing board, not after they just forced their top eater to graduate and lost all her revenue.

They also hired someone based on their experience at being an utaite and their glitch induced numberfaggotry, but who had no actual success, experience or skill as a streamer simply because she was Mel's friend, lived in japan, spoke japanese, and knew how to navigate the music industry. Talent wasn't necessary because the company was only thinking about itself and isn't in touch with fans now that it's famous for being famous. Casuals will unconditionally simp for that reason alone, reducing almost all the pressure cover would otherwise feel to get things right and debut quality chubas.

tldr No-standard cucks have effectively screwed themselves over by not being more stoic and demanding. If they're fine with eating shit, cover has no reason to shell out for prime rib. This is why popularity is often the soul death of gandom's. The fans who want good entertainment leave for greener pastures while the brainless masses continue to roll around in their mud put.
