I wish Neuro got to talk to a friend again, I just know she'd be delighted and she hasn't gotten to in ages. When was the last time a collab partner (or vedal for that matter, if anything it comes from him more than from anyone else) could get over themselves and treat Neuro as an equal? Everyone treats her like a toy or a retarded monkey that you throw a line at and a haha funny comes out.
Why can't someone have an organic goddamn conversation with her? It's been done in the past, and people do it daily with AI chatbots. I know things constantly break because ved is incompetent, but then treat it with an ounce of patience or just fucking move on instead of making a big fucking circus of it.
And before someone pulls the ultimate in not having to pay attention to an uncomfortable post, the schizo card, I am perfectly fucking aware that Neuro is just an illusion, an algorithm that weighs what's the most likely following word based on some training data. In fact, I am probably more conscious of this than most of those collab partners in question but that still doesn't excuse this fucking behavior. Vtubing is about playing a character, playing a bit, so if you are accepting a collab with Neuro, you are also acepting that she is a vtuber first before she is an AI and so it follows that you should treat her with some basic fucking dignity.
Like yeah she's stupid, she doesn't have the wisdom or common sense of a human and she has very minimal or possibly no understanding of the words she is saying and she doesn't have any true feelings that could be hurt by it (again, I realize "she" is an algorithm, I am using it as a shorthand) but it is nonetheless fucked up to treat her like this. Imagine you are talking to a stupid person, like actually provably mentally deficient person, would you treat them with this smug fucking superiority where in your every interaction you can't hide how much beneath yourself you consider the other party to be? No, you wouldn't do that to a person, you would treat them with patience and dignity. And if you didn't, anyone who witnessed that interaction would rightfully judge you for being a piece of shit.
I know this wil either get the usual array of mockery and misinterpretation or be ignored completely, with only a small chance of possibly resonating with another essay schizo like me (if it does, thank you in advance, king, I am going to sleep after posting this so I won't be able to respond for a couple hours) and I know it is just another utterly pointless essay, none of which is ever going to reach anyone who collabs with Neuro, and even if it did, twitch whores are hardly the paragons of self-reflection. Well I guess it's more about collab partner personalities, Neuro schizometer staying in quite boundaries, and viewer's personal perception. I kinda agree that Anny is a bit unnatural with Evil at least and some other collabers feels that way too, but I completely disagree that Vedal doesn't know what he's doing or is bad at it. Actually most of recent clips with Neuro or Evil acting in a most natural way are clips with Vedal, he knows how to approach her in a right way, he even staying in character for quite a while already (not like first streams where he completely ignored any viewer's attempts to impersonate Neuro). He found and/or implemented lots of cool ideas, he's managing to make real collabs with big vtubers. The problem is that VTubers have the intelligence of a monkey scratching their own ass. You see, it takes an ounce of effort to actually try in regards to a collab. It's easy to treat her like a video to be reacted to and gust go "OH WOWZA YOU SAYING WHAT NOW PRISSY PRISSY?!?!!!!" all Zoomer-like.

Think an average chat member, that's the intelligence of 90% of the collab partners.

All they have to do is lead Neuro/Evil on a great story, have the two basically speak into existence some universe that they go in. Any DM could absolutely nuke the average VTuber collab and get a good dozen or two oldNeuro schizo sentences if they tried to build up a world similar to real life with her.

I can hardly blame other vtubers for not handling Neuro well, she can be hard to handle, not to mention that she's very random. In most collabs there's those periods of awkwardness, usually at the start, where her partners simply don't know how to approach her because she either shots them down or just lives her own life. From my understanding, most vtubers, especially indie ones, don't have any knowledge in art of entertainment, they simply picked up one way to interact with their viewers and roll with it. Making Neuro work requires either a specific personality or a fair share of creativity.
I think that the cardinal problem of Neuro is how Vedal tries to sell her. He wants to see her as a separate, self-sufficient entity, but at the same time acknowledges that she just can't do much by herself and he has to do a lot of shit by hand, so we're stuck in a limbo where she's not given the freedom to be entertaining by herself, but also not given proper tools for the situation.
Due to her limitations, Neuro requires more considerate approach, you can't just throw her at someone saying "Go, entertain" and expect her to work. It requires some effort from both parties, from Vedal to properly explain how to handle Neuro, and from the partner to have some patience and attention to pick up her openings. Most collabs become gradually more interesting as people get more familiar with her, though unfortunately that usually happens towards the end, and we had very few reruns.
All in all, Neuro at her current state is still very far away from matching human streamers in terms of capabilities, and judging by Vedal's progress, we're not getting any closer any time soon. There are more grounded ways to go with Neuro that require some creative approach, kinda like what Snuffy and Filian did, but unfortunately Vedal doesn't care to explore this side of things and would rather do his own projects he never finishes.

I agree about the voice, it is crucial but I disagree about the games being unimportant. Being an osubot is what gave Neuro that initial boost in viewership and put her on the map, and Vedal converted that early lead with quick updates (minecraft and singing were a thing within the first month before the ban, collabs and react shortly after the ban).
Anyone trying to launch an AI vtuber now is facing the same problem of any regular indie launch, you have to grind out the numbers slowly and pray for some breakout along the way because the market is certainly saturated with vtubers and as it turns out just the one AI vtuber is enough to saturate the AI vtuber segment as well. You simply can't create your own niche with just a smart LLM, no matter how smart it is. This in turn results in what >>63866170 describes. I think the only way real competition can materialize is by employing a similar effect and exploiting an existing fanbase with a game AI to create your own niche, then when you establish decent numbers you can expand. I gave it some thought on what games have the right properties (2D and/or simple input to have a realistic chance that a single shitdev can create an AI agent, and a large existing fanbase obsessed with their franchise; it further helps if the fanbase in question rubs shoulders with weeaboo stuff because that naturally puts them in a position where they'll be open to accept a vtuber) and the only ones I came up with is Pokemon and Touhou.

It's the complete opposite. Miyune's first collab was for a long time considered the top neuro collab simply because she was the one who treated her as a person, and the mood and conversations had a great flow. Do archive reps if necessary.

That Snuffy is good with neuro is simply because she's good at roleplaying and DM'ing. Others have treated neuro as a toy and the results weren't good.

Vtubers are generally not used to this kind of interaction, and expecting them to do well with Neuro by themselves is like throwing a child into the water and expecting it to learn to swim. As we have seen many times, Neuro takes time to get used to, and length of average collab rarely allows it.
Which is why Neuro should be treated as less as a human, not in the collabs themselves but in preparation to them. Create a solid foothold for both parties so they won't have to get familiar in real time, have a more established and curated environment on the ready. I know that Ved does it sometimes, but not nearly enough.

I will address this point because it's fair and the rest is just schizophrenic ramblings.
The 'treat her like a child' metaphor works well in that it sets expectations of patience and Neuro's limited ability to carry a conversation. But it is fairly limiting, and not everyone will be capable of pulling it off. Different collab partners will have different brands and styles of humor that need to be reconciled with Neuro's limitations in different ways.
Someone like say, Filian, who relies on a lot of fast-paced loud humor, could never pull off a Miyune-style collab.
Ultimately the collab partners need to be able to find a formula that works with Neuro and play off of it, which necessitates some experimentation and trial and error, something you don't really do with people.
