Seems cool, you can tell she definitely has a power voice. Needs a new mic however. The art on her face I think is a lil TOO detailed and it didn't translate well to the rig which is why she looks weird at certain angles, but otherwise cute design.

Not a single thing I said matters though because her stream times for me will be between 10pm and 3am so I can't even watch her. What is even the point in hiring all these EN girls (who are obviously meant to attract western countries) if they only stream in JP times?

She's very well spoken. She took her time and chose her words well. She didn't do any weird sounds. She didn't repeat her phrases. She didn't do that translate thing that some ID would do which I think is a good idea. Only thing is she barely looked at chat but based from her interactions on Twitter that she's outgoing and she can speak nip so she won't be a utter mess. Her speaking voice is great so I'm excited to see her collab.

Terrible model. Fan art will consistently be better than the actual thing.
Good anisong voice, perfectly okay for idol songs and jpop, but not a knock-out singer like Hachi which I had hoped for. It's also not really that unique a voice, either. Like she would not stand out among NijiEN.
The bright side is that there will be more hololive music.

If they were going for a more realistic style, the proportions need to be different. I would have made the face narrower, and it's not like she needed such a round face given how poofy her hair is. Also the chin could be longer and mouth narrower. I don't think the nose is as big a deal as people make it out to be. Mostly the overall proportions are off. On the other hand, I looked at the concept art, and the chin/mouth looks better, so it's probably the rigging that's a lot of the issue here.

Slightly underwhelming in terms of charisma. Ina and Mori already have the awkward dork part locked down.

Voice is fine because she's good at staying on key but pretty boring because she doesn't utilise any techniques to give herself more character. Which is fine, a voice is just an instrument, it doesn't have to be unique in most contexts, it only becomes a problem with pop-style presentations like there where the whole hype and appeal is specifically around how stand out the individual talent's singing ability is.

Themeing for her character was literally something out of a 14 year old's diary and even in her music don't go much deeper than "things bad but now good come" which just rubs as quite superficial and aloof of everything going on in the world when her PR goes on about how she's arrived in troubled times to be the light. Also made worse by the fact that she's probably the oldest EN based on both her voice and more critically her tastes (i.e. watching Seed, Final Destination, Angel Beats).

Also the song itself is fine and I'm sure a lot of people will enjoy it but nothing seperates it from any other Japanese pop song, it literally hits all the typical compositional beats you'd expect from a pop song in terms of chord progressions, so it just feels a little ten a penny.

Mori gets away with having so-so music because it's not front loaded into her billing. Marketing and hyping IRyS as "V-Singer" only to be as safe and middle of the road as possible just feels uninspiring. If she wasn't part of Hololive, she'd just be another modestly successful (but run of the mill) indie. Which is probably reflected in the iffy numbers on her Roommate's YT for their recent releases

Amusing and optimistic attitude. Very pleasant voice when speaking. Decent when singing and I hope she's allowed to show off some variety, which the EP previews seem like she is. So that's good. Also singing more in English since she is the EN singer.

My biggest criticisms are about her model. Having a ton of details which won't translate that well into 3D. The art style as a whole is also not matching anyone else in Hololive, so placing even the 2D model next to another will look jarring. My first impressions as a whole are positive though, look forward to what she does and how she mixes with the other EN girls when given the chance.

This desu. Gura lacks formal training, I think (based purely on listening to her) but has a naturally sweet voice. Her lower registers during Rodeo are quite appealing in a sultry way but she struggles to maintain the power in her voice.

IRyS is good at saying on key on the other hand but is quite safe vocally. My big worry is that she's the kind of singer who tries to avoid pitch breaks even though small cracks or wobbles can add a bit of necessary character sometimes.

It would have been a risk sure but given the monumental success of EN and the limits of the anime adjacent market (even if it is expanding), it's one that could be justified and would be worth taking.

Instead Cover went in completely the opposite direction with an anime PV (less of an issue but still a soft filter) and a mostly Japanese pop song that's musically more suited for a Japanese pop audience than a Western (US) one.

Think about the adaptions BTS (despite retaining some of their character) had to make to really get a big push in the US. The fact that people like Pokimane and Pewdiepie (even if temporarily) bandwagoned suggests some level of residual awareness, which is a critical building block if you were inclined to take it mainstream.

If you've never worked with OBS and stuff before, when it gets to this much stuff on one screen, it could be a hassle to manage and work things around.

It's her first stream (besides tests), so you have to cut some slack. She also has a lot of shit to focus on and think about, especially for a 'new' streamer with transitions and everything.

Criticizing that aspect is kind of nitpicky, and it wasn't at all terrible. She's supposed to be a singer anyways, it's clear that streaming wasn't exactly the first thing advertised.

generic debut just like every other EN so far, better let her gain traction and more spotlight to her singing talent and so I'll have wait for both her album release and singing stream to know if she brings something new to the table.
Her personality on-stream can vastly change overtime compared to the one she presented during debut.
