Possible hot take, Coco leaving Hololive was an overall positive thing for both the company and, to a minor extent, her.
Coco's leaving being good for her is somewhat obvious, I don't need to spend time on that point. Her new fanbase can make it for me. But for Cover, her leaving meant the removal of said cult of personality. That was exceptionally important to it's continued growth, as without her leaving, I assume that trends would have continued to develop on a dangerous path.
Consider how it is now: Management is slow, ultimately attempting to do the right thing, but incompetent in many aspects, and so works with the talent on a slow but consistently positive basis, with occasional backslides that get criticism and, eventually so far, realigned back to the mean.
With Coco's energy and push in the company, that would likely make the fans much more turbulent. Her diehards became radicalized during the incident that was forced I'm her shoulders, and ultimately, radicalism like that doesn't dissipate easily, even in the event of victory. They would have turned on the company easily, rabidly in some instances if her position was felt to be threatened by overly sensitive or slow managerial staff. Worse, her status would make any low level drama between talents untenable. It already isn't ideal; imagine the same circumstances with a fanbase that was radicalized to believe threats against their idol were not just unjust, but sinister, with puppeteers possibly pulling the strings.
Ultimately, this is just me shitting out a theory on my work break, but it could be fair. Her leaving on good terms essentially put a capstone on the potential radicalization of a fanbase, and inculcated the wider Hololive project from destabilization in a way that other corporate competition has been incapable of replicating in their own business.

Consider what happened to NijiEN's radical loyalists from Luxiem when they were slighted too much. Total abandonment, eventually causing one of their own past favorites to graduate from being too crazy, etc.
The situation we ended up having made all the diehards stay around, but culled the flame inside them in such a way that they wouldn't be liable to rebound. Essentially, they managed to secure a massive, longterm, deeply loyal and yet ultimately docile audience, and to put the icing on top, it didn't turn the audience into perfect sheep that dulled their capacity for growth or feedback. The audience still has preferences, still punishes business moves that don't favor their preferences, but it will never be so explosive as to cause the company harm outside of those ways which promote growth in better directions.

It's pretty obvious that Coco was pushing Cover - and Hololive in general - to be more westernized. In some aspects this actually helped, e.g. talents like Suisei and Pekora (and Hololive in general) are completely unaffected by shit said to them by random people masquerading as fans (false flagging used to be a HUGE issue in the chuuba field). The Holo blacklisting during the chinkout also built bonds forged in fire, meaning a lot of holomem are EXTREMELY close to each other and will try to lift up their colleagues rather than compete or try to bring them down.

But in other aspects, this was also a bad thing. Members doing whorish dance poses, 3D twerking and shit like that are very far from the "idol" image that most of the company wants to push. Some of them still indulge in tomfoolery from time to time, it's often more with the vibes of "girls' locker room" rather than the Black rap MV style shit that Coco was pushing.
She talked a lot about how management told her not to do certain moments and how she completely ignored them, because it was Live and they couldn't stop her. That level of independance from management would have caused a lot of problems down the line, as Rushia's case clearly shows.

Other holos have also heavily have moved away from Coco's branding (while still acknowledging that she helped them get here). The western pandering has died down for the most part (some of them try and make it easy for any EN viewers to watch certain streams, but it's no longer as full throated as it was before).
The "idol" and "family friendly" image also opened them up to a SHIT TON of sponsors, all of whom wouldn't have ever gone anywhere NEAR hololive if Hololive's brand was still driven by Coco.
Western meme connectivity has also completely evaporated. This is good for the most part because we can meme in peace without fear of the talent finding out, but it also results in situations like Pekora's Monkey incident, where she thought foreign viewers were insulting Jill - while it was actually a condensed part of a long meme ("Don't let this distract you from the fact that Pekora bought a fucking MONKEY" --> "A fucking MONKEY"), or her not knowing about the whole "ogey" thing.

What all of this has done is filter the "ironic" crowd from HoloJP, which is what a lot of the oldfags wanted. JP's EN audience is now left with people who watch streams and a minority of clipfags.
HoloJP's focus has completely moved to the domestic arena, and they've found a lot of success there, while still being the same Hololive that brought all of us here in the first place.
I don't think it would've grown as big as it has if Coco was still around.
