Just a couple days ago Marine released a cover of loligami that got 1M views in just 6 hours and then suddenly dropped off and never inclined again, which is the complete opposite of what a video of this caliber should be getting.
Picrel is Ui's view gain compared to Marine's.
Ui's is completely natural, that's how a normal graph looks like, meanwhile Marine's just plummets from a very high point, which makes no sense algorithm-wise. If a video is spiking like that it gets into the algo and naturally keeps gaining new spikes just like Ui's graph shows, but Marine's cover didn't, which means someone at youtube must have tampered with it and cut it off from the algo. And this isn't the first time they did this. They did something similar to Aqua's and Pekora's minecraft collab where they froze the views on their streams for 20 hours and then just resumed it again like nothing happened.

the ui one is daily views from oct 10 to nov 27th which is way past when all the weird shit that happened to that vid (launch on sep 10, then a few waves of virality over the next month) and it's just going through natural decay over the time on that graph

the point being that they're not actually comparable graphs at all. you'd want to compare graphs of viewsgrowth from the premiere point for the first few days, and then you'd actually see what the different common patterns are for what the first few days can look like

because people have more time to watch youtube videos on the weekends, the weekends have higher viewgrowth in general than the weekdays.
All of Marine's songs also have higher viewsgrowth on the weekends.
If you want to compare Marine to that Ui graph, you should look at the Bishopai or Maribako or something that released a while ago to compare what the mature decay patterns are like.

e.g. here's Bishopai over the same period as that Ui graph, looks very similar because they're both popular songs that released around a similar time so they're both in similar phases of their growth trajectory

So YouTube has been recommending me older Senchou streams from late 2019 and I must say before the Holoboom everything felt very different, rougher but much more genuine as if the holos actually wanted to stream and have fun doing it instead of just doing it to please their fans (I'm not accusing Marine of this, but her energy does feel very different than it does now) it's also funny how with a lot less people watching her, she would read the superchats on the spot and not just the red ones or so but any superchat she also read the people who joined her membership..
Fuck man I wish I had started watching Hololive during that era, I started watching them during the pandemic and Senchou specifically post Holo-caust, I feel like that era before they became extraordinarily popular was much more comfy and satisfying.

I think what you're describing is the passage of any craft from passion to profession, and the professionalism that comes with that (often necessary) change. When Hololive was still new and relatively small, the girls weren't as experienced and had to in some ways make things up as they went along. There were definitely limits and general guidelines, but it's one thing to avoid breaking the rules and another thing to have an "act" down. And I use the word act in the same way that I'd refer to a stand up comedy routine, stage performance, or stunt. But just because something becomes routine doesn't mean that it's become worse. The opposite, I think. Practice makes perfect and Marine's current day projects blow anything from 2019 out of the water.

Also for reading superchats she made a decision while her voice was fucked up to only read superchats more sparsely to prevent another vocal injury.
