Gura already made fun of the reason on stream. They wanted a raise on their contract and then walked out when they didn't get it.

That is the reason why they weren't terminated and why they never held a graduation stream. They didn't plan on quitting but messed it up.

They both hate the Japanese. They both commonly make jokes about racist Japanese stereotypes on stream now. It's really not that complicated.

Considering that there was a model update and then a lengthy suspension, I kinda buy into the investigation rrat - both were probably talking shit about the company to outsiders in a way that could be interpreted as leaks (we know Magni had issues with his design and Vesper got into fights with management, possibly about perms stuff), both were investigated for it. In the end, them leaving the company quietly without breaking NDA was best for both sides - Cover don't have to actually fire two of their newest hires when the Mikeneko incident (which was far more dramatic and more of an "oh shit" moment) is still somewhat fresh in people's minds, and Magni and Vesper can go back to what they were doing before, where they were clearly happier. Still feel a bit sorry for Pako, though.

The two were causing problems basically their entire run, very public problems the entire board knew about, and then since graduation have largely, by their own words, provided context that has only been damning about themselves when anyone who could get away with it would absolutely be doing their best to paint the company in a bad light instead.
