I mean, if there's no name change and it was like what Nyana or Sena did with designs, I'd be down to clown; Alternative outfits are a thing that both indie and corpo vtubers do. It's the straight up disregard for personal branding that even Ironmouse manages to understand even with her slew of models that makes it feel weird to me. You can have a bunch of different designs and outfits with a similar theme/base, but random stuff just feels odd. Consistency is what's I'm looking for.

Basically the same reason people got up in arms about the tags, it basically fragmented the original community. Now instead of a group of indies with some sort of overlapping community, you have a group of indies who have almost no relation to each other beyond a community with a sense of nostalgia for what was and what could have been.
TLDR;
tribalfagging on a smaller scale, people tend to get defensive when it comes to their community and overblow stuff that, in the grand scheme of things, doesnt really matter all that much. I'll admit, I'm guilty of this sort of thing as well, but all this crying and moaning about "FlaVR is dead" is stupid when there are plenty of people still in FlaVR and a lot of the OGs are still going strong.

i kind of expected this outcome eventually. unlike asp, flavr was never sustainable to begin with. it was a passion project started out by people who wanted to meme magic pippa's antics into reality. the moment the anons here started prompting their own designs and trying to recruit people from /vt/, it's already lost it's original purpose. it was never really meant to be a support group. even if we are very accepting of anyone who wants to pick up a persona under the flavr name, theres still a measure of scrutiny that any prospective member would have to deal with from the anons: how some expect them to do their reps on the flavr's history as well as roster, to learn to accept a design that might not appeal to them, put effort into content, have a set schedule, etc. there was never any real benefit to being associated with us, except to grift off a bunch of gullible viewers who believed in the false veneer of unity. and with nothing to tie them to the flavr name, why should they submit themselves to it and the expectations of anons to keep up the facade?

Oops missed this one. Pcgia doesn't have a team and can't play lia for the same reason we can't play pcg: they're already playing each other. I can ask lia if they get a second game as well.
How it works is each team gets one friendly game until all of the teams interested respond. After that you can ask for a second game. Last friendly we played ggg first because pcg had a game already, and when the option for a second game opened up I asked the pcg caretaker for a game. Hope that makes sense

The way I see it, there are people who came in from /asp/ and people who came in from /pcg/, and while it might seem that they had aligned goals - success for the chuubas, ultimately their interests were divergent in the attachment to the meme. The /pcg/ anons worship Pippa like she's a goddess, and further propagating and expanding upon this thing she created was their priority. But to the /asp/ies and their followers who followed them in here, their goals were primarily finding an audience and self-expression. These goals, for a time, coincided insofar as they engaged with the meme. However, just like a shaken mixture of oil and water, when given enough time to settle, this mixture of immiscible subcultures was destined to inevitably degenerate into its constituent parts. This may seem obvious to say, but these girls are not Pippa. So now the /asp/ies are doing what they do and moving on to their next project, memes be damned.

I saw the mint rebrand coming but I thought it was just me being paranoid; there's a fair amount of anons who follow the now retired/rebranded FlaVRs to their new lives, and the points raised by this anon: >>63370801 do make sense.
Mehlofags, Stelafags, Mintafags, etc, are all part of the community in my eyes, even though the chuubas themselves have rebranded. We do sometimes talk about Non-FlaVRs, like Nyana's friend Maika or Sena's Friendwife Kerimara here, so it wouldn't be unheard of.

Mint (now called Rem Rorschach, correct me if I'm wrong) and Lala are making their own group called 2D2U with another person called MashiMelt and have plans to expand their group. Although Mint was the most active in this general out of everyone, she hasn't exactly interacted with the rest of FlaVR in public, so I'm not sure we continue to talk about her, because then we'd have to talk about her group by association, which has nothing to do with us. Maika and Kerimara actively interact with at least someone in FlaVR, and at least Chirami made fanart.

Imo it's a bit of a risk I feel. I've always thought if a chubba wanted to rework something of the character to fit them, they'd mention it and we'd fix it similar to Nyana or Mixie. While I'm not against adding some new people to friends (like Chirami), the thread name change feels a bit too much of a knee jerk reaction that might backfire badly long term. I personally feel this could've been communicated clearer, and that just slapping horns onto Mintas new model would work out since chubbas get alternative models all the time might sooth things over.

We can also group Nyana in there since Sena makes her own stuff. I can understand making friends, but it seems like changing everything constantly would get a bit... weird? Especially to your viewers.

Honestly full rebranding stuff feels wrong to me. It lacks a certain professionalism, and feels way more clout chasing. Like entertainment is a business regardless of your goals, you cant reach certain people without the audience or connections. Rebranding all the time means you never have the audience.

I think the reason people are upset is that FlaVR has kind of been for the fans since Sweet. You prompt a girl, a cute girl picks it up and acts out the character you made. Jubi/Stela/Lala and Minta/Rorschach seem more into making friends with other vtubers than actual audience interaction. Kills the fun of seeing your design come to life to stream for you.

Every train of though has something that can be followed, no matter how stupid or out of there it is. I quite literally cannot figure out what the thought process behind this decision is, it is counter to the biggest point of vtubing overall; playing a charater and growing a audience and community around it. If you abandon the character constantly you will lose that audience either though people not know your new charater or falling off due to the constant swapping. It's why alternate models exist; it allows you to massively change that character model without changing the actual character.

A lot of generals turns insular after a while. You'll probably pick up some stragglers, but you might be better off shilling at reddit or some other off-site at this point.
