Unless you have the same level of skill, the same singing style, and a similar voice, you will never pull off the same level of performance.
Macross is capable of taking literal nobodies like JUNNA to the top of the charts because every goddamn song is easily an album cover song in terms of overall quality and how tailored to the exact voice and singing style of their singers they are.

I just lower my expectations for perfect singing cus it's pretty hard for most girls to be perfect for 4minutes or so. Also your comparisons r just casual karaokes vs highly rehearsed stage performances where they practice for weeks to just sing a couple songs. There's basically only a couple singers who do vtubing that have actual bands and I would consider them "real" musicians. Otherwise just be more realistic of your expectations.
