You pretty much addressed everything I’ve had concerns about. I have a lot of trouble showing high energy, even at times when I feel like I’m being super expressive I listen back and my voice is still pretty flat. Maybe I’m just a bitter old man.

I really need to get back into it and finish the Godfather, I don’t care if no one knows the game that was the first time I had fun with a game in a long time. I like gacha games but no matter how much I like them they’re just not very exciting lol and that doesn’t help with dead air or energy levels

It's a personal preference. Some people gonna filter you, it is what it is.
If you don't lean to your appearance - go for simple route.
If you have enough self-hatred you can go for vroid AND unity. Swap textures, shaders, highlights, add blendshapes and it gonna be already much better.
If you already defeated your self-hatred and became too powerful - go for blender directly.

Yeah, "physical" painting is super important.
I need to try it more. I generally just stretched abilities of blendshapes to use webcam-based copy of ARKit, added some specific things to expressions and fixed general problems of "standard" look. In appearance - fixed only small things like eyes or main textures. But most of stuff require repainting. This version of texture was made by a mouse, kek. Need to start using drawing tablet for it. To not just drawing textures - try something more "stylized". specific. Need some bravery and time for experiments.

I have no clue how they found me, because I use a second account when I chat in my oshis chat, and even then, I hardly chat to begin with
They only talked about what I was doing on stream, so I dont think they found me through my oshi
Im a bit confused on what to do if they show up again. Should I say I recognize them from my oshis chat? Or would that be too weird? Should I treat them as just a new viewer? I mostly focus on gaming streams (not free chat), so it would be hard to steer the conversation towards other vtubers, but maybe if I play a game my oshi has played, I could use that as an opportunity to namedrop them
