I'm hoping my 2.0 will be ready by my anniversary, or at least my birthday. I'm pretty excited but nervous because I never actually "debuted", just started streaming immediately. I feel like I've gotten a lot accomplished over the year I've streamed, but I still have a lot to learn and since I've gotten to know a decent amount of people along with somehow getting people to watch me, I'm scared of the amount of expectations people might have for me. For a while now I've been thinking about doing a sort of "community night" or "talent show" type of stream where I have several small streamers (or viewers) on as guests and give them 10-15 minutes each to do whatever they want, encouraging them to leverage chat interaction.

Is this something you think you could leverage to show off your skills, or is the time/format too limiting?

The problem with virtual talent shows is that it limits a lot of what people can do.
Even singing is hard to do because there is delay (unless you are doing it acapella, and even then discord fucks up the audio). Playing an instrument is probably the most you're gonna get, and, unless people do memey stuff, it might get boring.
I think maybe the idea of having a premade video to submit might not be terrible.

I think the problem with a vtuber talent show is that the short time frame makes it hard for anybody doing a more long-form type of content to really get their shit in and show off. It's kinda hard to show off something like coding or knitting or 3d modeling in that short of a time frame. I don't think vtubers are limited to just drawing or singing, but those already dominate the landscape of talent shows as-is and the issue would be exacerbated 100 fold with this format.

maybe just focusing on trying to do a quick showcase of people (a popular clip or two, a song cover they've released/some art they've posted/whatever their creative outlet is, and an explanation of why you wanted to show them off) followed with a quick Q&A with a larger chat they aren't used to would work better.

The bread and butter of vtuber content is gaming streams. Those who can do other things? May not make for good content in such a short time frame.
Music is a good option here but live performances can be hard to do for a lot of chubas who live with others

After thinking about it, I would prefer to really do something related to my content than to come up with something opportunistic and attention grabbing when, in my own place, I almost never do stuff like that. So I would end up doing some kind of pseudo-motivational/positive talking for the dear viewers, and if it were to be a possibility even try to have some ping pong with the chat "solving" problems related to that.
