At most Kiara is witty, strong-willed and socially competent. In business that helps quite a lot. However, she is not smart when it comes to cognitive abilities. High EQ, maybe slightly above average IQ.

Well, while we're at it, how are we even defining smart? Just like there's no such thing as general intelligence, there's no singular way to be mentally competent at every single thing. Human beings wouldn't be such social creatures if we could learn and do everything on our own. For example, there's crystallized intelligence, which has more to do knowledge/retainment of information. Then you have emotional intelligence, which has more to do with self-control, resilience, discernment and reading the atmosphere, decision-making, etc. I'm sure there are more aspects that I haven't listed, but the human mind is complex.

Someone can fail when it comes to things that are known to be common sense, but extremely competent in other ways. It's all dependent on context.
