I want my Vtuber to be self-aware as to what they are and what the world is like, but I don't mind them to be slightly-airheaded. Being a dork is fine, as it makes you more relatable as a whole. Chat is usually pretty open to hearing what you say, but at the same time our listening comprehension can be piss poor depending on the age and education.
Cheering us up can depend on a case by case basis. Some of us are fine with just a quick shout-out, some prefer more intimate messages. Those intimate messages can be problematic as they can stray the line of professionalism.

Again, these are mainly MY OWN thoughts so take them with a pile of salt. A single Anonymous user has no little to no influence on what the community says, all I can do is contribute my two cents.

Assuming you love your chat and your chat loves you they will do anything for you within reason. As long as this is reciprocal and not taken for granted.

Chat will respond to your desires as long as you aren't constantly flip flopping and you don't make it seem like they are the issue with your unhappiness.
Learn how to do basic pr so instead of when you're upset or angry lashing out at chat and making them feel hurt, you word things in a way that isn't accusatory.
Like if some chat behaviour is upsetting you, you don't call them shitty people and insult them but rather talk about how some things are hurting your feelings but you know they don't mean it and don't intend to.
The best thing you can do is provide a positive environment which is unified by chats love (for you) and like Nina said men are easy just be nice to them.
A lot of chatters will say weird shit but they mean well, many are just very awkward. Good to have boundaries but understand and try to look on the positive side of comments and not misinterpret them as negative.
If you genuinely seem like you are happy to see your chat and play and talk with them, they will be happy to see you.
