I don't have a problem with gay shipping, it's just that RT thought that pandering to the audience was an excuse to not hire any actual writers. When the fans do the shipping it's fine, pretty much every fandom makes pairings that don't make sense. But even if the writers wanted to make some ships a thing in the actual show, they could at least have an effective way of going about it.
Blake and Yang are now permanently joined at the hip and you’d be hard pressed to find a moment where the two of them are in the same room and choose to do a team attack (or hold a conversation) with anyone but each other.

These two have as much chemistry as tap water and rain water. They’re so bland and the relationship was so forced they had to literally be coerced by an outside force into confessing their totally-natural, definitely-planned-from-the-beginning “love”.
If the writers were taking any prior characterization into account, the relationship wouldn’t last long anyway.
Yang has a habit of grabbing other people’s junk without their consent, and Bland can get pretty handsy with partners (especially of the blonde variety). What DO they see in each other?

Would have failed in any time frame. Using an existing character for vtubing is overall more of a burden than an asset. The streamer needs complete creative control over the character they're portraying, and they also need to be good at streaming which is a very different skillset from just voice acting a popular character.

Monty liked lesbians because they're hot, RT took it seriously, denied Weiss and Ruby's highschool moe yuri dynamic (the most popular pairing in the series by far) and went the californian capeshit route instead (making people hate the pairing in the process). Monty gave Weiss a real reason to hate minorities and made them literal terrorists which is basically unheard-of in western writing. He operated on a different wavelength from western garbage which is why he was the best thing to ever happen to that trash company despite them certainly opposing him every step of the way.

I honestly wouldn't even say that the new stuff is bad I think that volume six is probably one of the best volumes out there when it comes to actually building more and expanding on team dynamics with each other. There's a lot to nitpick but honestly I wouldn't say But the Monty series is much better than the current state of the show outside of the fight scenes but even then there are still some decent fight scenes would help carry this series
