Mostly my fault, I was probably one of only two people who even tried, but it was too much content and I was pretty busy with work and relocation, so only did the dailies for a short while and like one or two YT vids. Then CCs fucking died (thanks again for nothing, Google), so that was it for good.

Himari is most likely on her way out (if speculation is correct, both Uni and herself may have even been discovered already, and it's unrelated to Vtubing), but there's the crowdfund preventing it from happening right now. It seems that they are yet to send out the rewards and figure out what to do with the concert stretch goal. I have watched Uni from 2018 to about 2020, she was my oshi at the time. Himari I didn't watch much, but my friends watched her quite actively (started because of the meme ad campaign, but stayed for the eroge).

Her heyday was before streaming took off, before kirinuki took off, before corona, etc. The western Vtuber fanbase was really small back then and was mostly limited to people who knew at least some moon, so I'm not surprised she's not that known these days. Back then if you didn't have an active autistic community translator, there wasn't really any way a western fanbase would've formed around you. E.g. my impression was that, say, HimeHina's international outreach back then was in no small part because of Arc's efforts.

They were hired for their acting skill, while the modern streamer is hired mostly for live entertainment skills.
