However, for those in search of rare tomes and ancient manuscripts, the Kurogawa Library was the place to visit.

One day, a young linguist named Hiroshi decided to explore the library, in search of forgotten kanji characters. He believed that there might be hidden meanings and lost knowledge within the strokes and radicals of the ancient writing system.

Deep within the dusty shelves, Hiroshi discovered a book bound in black leather, with no title on the spine or cover. Curious, he opened it. Inside, he found a singular kanji character that he had never seen before. The character seemed to pulsate and shimmer as if alive, drawing Hiroshi in. Mesmerized, he sketched the character into his notebook.

That night, Hiroshi dreamt of the character. It seemed to float before him, its strokes morphing into twisted, screaming faces. He woke up in a cold sweat, disturbed by the vividness of the nightmare.

When morning came, he decided to delve deeper into the meaning of the mysterious kanji. However, as he attempted to research it, he found that every device he used malfunctioned. His computer crashed, his phone wouldn't turn on, and even the lights in his apartment flickered erratically.

Growing desperate, Hiroshi visited a local shrine to speak with the head priest. The priest's face turned ashen as Hiroshi showed him the sketched kanji. "This is the 'Yami' character," the priest whispered. "It represents darkness, not just in a literal sense, but darkness that consumes the spirit. Hiroshi, though skeptical, was desperate to rid himself of the nightmares and the disturbances. He agreed to participate in a purification ceremony that evening.

As night fell, the ceremony began. Hiroshi sat in the center of a circle of salt, surrounded by candles, while the priest chanted incantations. Suddenly, a gust of wind blew out the candles, and Hiroshi felt an unseen force grab him. The darkness seemed to close in on him, the kanji character appearing everywhere, growing larger and more menacing.

With immense effort and the priest's guidance, Hiroshi chanted a mantra to repel the darkness. The unseen force weakened, and light began to seep in. As dawn approached, the character faded, and Hiroshi felt an immense weight lifted from his soul.

The priest advised Hiroshi to burn the page with the sketched kanji, ensuring it would never harm him again. Hiroshi did so, watching as the flames consumed the cursed symbol.

With a newfound respect for the power of words and characters, Hiroshi vowed never to tamper with unknown symbols again. The Kurogawa Library's mystery remained intact, as the ancient tome with the cursed kanji disappeared without a trace, waiting for the next curious soul to discover its dark secret.

Every character he learned appeared in his dreams, but they weren’t the friendly, welcoming characters from his previous language pursuits. The old man's eyes widened with fear when he heard Alex’s description of the book. “That’s the cursed kanji tome,” he whispered. “Legend says it contains the souls of ancient scholars who were consumed by their obsession with mastering every single kanji. They now seek to torment others who attempt the same.”

Determined to break the curse, Alex consulted the historian further. The only solution, he was told, was to master every character in the book, demonstrating respect for the language and those trapped within. It would be a daunting task, but Alex was resolute.

Each day, he studied harder, fueled by the dual desire to learn and to free himself. The nightmares intensified, but so did his determination. And after what felt like an eternity, he finally mastered the last character.

That night, instead of being met with menacing shapes and whispered threats, Alex dreamt of a serene temple garden. The once-malevolent kanji now floated around him like gentle fireflies, their glow warm and comforting.

He awoke to find the cursed tome had vanished, leaving behind a single sheet of parchment. On it was a handwritten note in elegant Japanese script: “To the one who respects our language and its history, thank you.”

From that day on, Alex’s dreams were peaceful, and his newfound mastery of kanji became a bridge to deeper connections and understanding with the Japanese people and culture. However, he always remembered the price of obsession and the importance of respecting not just the language, but the souls intertwined with its history.

well correction, i really like the "recommended streams" thing they have.
issue is FWMC streams so fucking much it'd be hard to make a list. especially because they also have SC readings that are actually enjoyable, so itd be too much effort to make one..
