Best way to set lighting is the img2img colour filter method. In paint or photoshop make an image that is a solid colour and and set it as the image in img2img, denoise 0.75, higher less colour. In a low res prompt your normal stuff and the the gen will take on the colour setting the mood. Pick ones you like and img2img them back to high res, 0.5 denoise.

It's a bit complicated in my mind so I'm not sure I can put it into words that well but some combination of
- I don't want the threads to be purely hornyposting and it would be hypocritical of me to expect other people to follow that if I don't
- It's often not interesting to generate and often results in getting a bunch of "Can you make that same pic but with <other vtuber>" which is extra uninteresting imo
- A moderate amount of the lewd stuff here is quite out of my fetish zone and I can only assume the reverse is just as easily true so no sense dropping in too much of it, people can just make their own
- It's not like there's any lack of it here regardless of what I do

And then just a general personal feeling about generative AI that I believe deserves more than a bullet point - I've always been in favour of it as a concept. Obviously, or I wouldn't be here. People would say it'll ruin art or it's starving all the artists and I just kind of laughed. But after watching online spaces one after another get absolutely innundated with it I've been starting to feel like the real "danger" of it is not the way it can copy or steal ideas but just the sheer speed at which basically anyone can create hundreds or thousands of "mostly good enough" images. I mean just look at my image filename here I've generated an insane amount of images (and this isn't even counting all the img2img results). Anywhere that doesn't have some sort of AI filtering tool is just getting less and less usable recently.
So based on that I think the #1 responsibility of anyone generating a bunch of this stuff is to upload and share just the ones they like the most, or silly things approrpiate to the situation, or whatever. To not contribute to the content flood, essentially. And if I'm gonna chose between sharing something I have not yet seen much of and pic #100 of "your oshi covered in semen" I know which one I'm picking

Side note but while I'm ranting, the requests that are just "vtuber of your choice doing <sex act>" really don't even belong here. They're not even vtuber requests they're just people trying to request porn by putting vtuber in the sentence they clearly don't care at all about the fact it's a vtuber or they would have picked one (or two or three maybe give requester some options)

I don't think there is anything wrong with prompting lewds or porn, it's only natural for any man to be driven towards sexual gratification, but there is a difference between making all those images and posting all those images. There are people here, even in this specific thread already, who will post big batches of lewds in one post using catbox links and I think that is totally fine. I don't think that's even bad, really. I like being able to gen that kind of thing too, I just usually don't see much point in posting it. It's so simple to make so much of it but it all just sort of blends together and makes me feel reluctant to link it. Oh man, time to talk thread health I see.
The anchor has gotten bad, and I mean real bad, after having pruned undesirables ("any chuuba/your oshi", loli, fat, weird fetish, >>(cross thread)), there's only 6 requests actually left to do on it (bless you anons), the rest are all vague do the sex requests, or make me an anime image of whoever, doesn't matter.
This leaves me at a severe lack of things I want to post/prompt, since I really do need anons to give specifics in order to make this not just the Nth pinup image I'm gonna output. "Holos in a long dress" is a shit request, but "Watame as a vampire in a long dress, coyly flashing a fang at you while flustered" is a banging request, prompting instantly. Add this to the fact that personal requests have somehow migrated onto the anchor with the "more like this" or "this with X" requests that used to just be a reply end up there a lot of the time, which makes it harder for other anons to sort through and find good requests to work on.
As an extension of this, I've found it's gotten a lot more uncommon to see anons ask for variants or alterations to a gen. Usually when someone posted something cool, they'd get flooded with "Can you do this with X" or "Can you do something similar, but change this and that" and those kept it interesting, like working together with collective imaginations of multiple anons. Now if you're getting a "this but" it's gonna be Skyler, Koragi and more recently Lovell having to be put into every single gen under the sun, and I feel a lot less inclined to do those when they're being thrown at every 10th gen posted in the thread.

So as someone who's completely out of ideas for what to do, and who keeps being disappointed by the anchor, I'm left with honestly not just prompting a whole lot these days. I'm sure I'm not the only anon who has this issue, and frankly I think that's why there's so much smut posted in here, since those that do jump on the requests have basically only those to play with.

I commented on the general discussion already but I just wanted to add that I don't think the "your oshi/chuuba of your choice" requests are necessarily bad. If it was a porn request I would ignore it but if it's just like "on a dinner date with your oshi" or some other innocuous situation, I don't think just because they didn't specifically pick a chuuba themselves means they don't care about vtubers or something. People making requests, I imagine, can't prompt themselves and might not know what chuubas are possible to make or don't want to get their request ignored by accidentally choosing someone that is impossible to make. Just because we have the tags and lora rentry in the OP doesn't mean a requester is going to read them.

Regarding this, I don't want to rant too much about it as I rarely do any requests and am rather new to this thread. I knew about its existence for a long while now but I rarely lurked and thought everyone was just doing holos and {{{large}}} so I sticked to my own. Now I am trying to change that by providing more chuba diversity. Unfortunately the Lovell situation stems from my own lora but I hope it will alleviate the more loras I pump out.
As a community I think we should be more motivational and focused on pushing people to prompt for themselves. Sure, there still are people who only own a phone and that sucks but even on a moderate CPU I think SD can output a 512x512 in a few minutes. At the same time I'm pretty sure a bunch of the non-prompters make a request and then go back to their <insert AAA game from last year here> and they just don't want to bother with this.
What I will do moving forward is giving more attention to anons trying to debug stuff than requesters of <your oshi doing some unknown sexual position I've only seen in a 90's german porn film>. After all, there is no binding contract for requests so just do whatever brings you the most enjoyment. That is what it's all about anyway. It shouldn't feel like a chore or doing unwanted gens just to please an anon unless you just want to push your limits.

I didn't have much choice. However vtubers that play around with free assets on twitter like sweaters and glasses and stuff like that end up with better loras than the ones whose only images are always them in the same outfit.
If those simple png assets have such a good effect on the loras then adding 10% AI images into the mix shouldn't hurt that much.
I figured people make OC loras with their own gens so it can't be that bad.
The outfit is now unbaked but it pops up easily if prompted with 'white dress, pelvic curtain'.
