Contrary to what has been said last thread I like the spectrum from serious to humorous entries, it doesn't need consistency if it just exists as entertaintment without further ambition. You could imagine it as different people writing the entries, or just one guy writing them at different times and with different moods/perspectives, though the errors took away from the professional SCP-like feel. Fitting with that I found the humorous and more creative bits to be more engaging than the moderately chuuni and predictable ones, probably because there's no actual plot (or even the promise of one) that would give those weight. And because we know that the actual holos are mostly silly goobers.
It won't be a seminal part of /wg/ history at the end of the day, and if it was the start of something larger it'd probably be best to polish it and give it a clearer direction. But as it is it's fine entertainment in written form, something you can be proud of. Luckily HoloX missing was compensated for by >>60647290

For me, it's character profiles. I end up writing all sorts of ancillary bullshit on the side just to flesh them out. Though it does take time away from writing the actual fic, it's not exactly something I can skimp on either. Or else the characters in the fic will suck because I wouldn't know what to do with them.

I should make some character profile docs at some point. I've been telling myself to at least make a spell/abilities compendium so I don't lose track of things I've had my characters do, and what the names they were given. On the larger scale of things, they're not THAT important; I personally just do them so I have an idea of how the character "thinks."
It's rather autistic, actually, because I would first write their profile in third person, before writing a monologue in first person in "their" voice. That way, when I write the actual fic, I would go like, "what would be going on inside character X's mind in this situation?" and write accordingly. I find that the fic becomes more character-driven that way. But that's just how it works for me; other people might have other (maybe more efficient) methods to achieve that.

What works for you is the most important part. The idea of the profile sounds like it allows you to really get into that character's head, know their life a little, learn what a typical reaction from them might be. I myself don't have a real method for that so I'm a little jealous that you worked out a good system for yourself. I think another good takeaway from that method is that it can help shake up the routine a little when it comes to writing. It lets you take a step back and do something that's tangible progress without writing the actual content itself. Supplementary work can be refreshing and ultimately better for you in the long run.

Hard to believe it's already been just over a year since I submitted my first chapter of this series. I've seen and done so much since finding this thread on a whim and I'm so glad I did. Refinding my love for writing and telling the story my heart always wanted to tell has been a godsend for me. I love this hobby so much, with all its ups and downs. While I know I still have a long way to go as a writer, I'm going to keep doing my best to improve with every chapter I create. Weird formatting, but it was done to cover up the author if I remember the last thread correctly. I don't really have much experience with shitposty comedy fics, but this was fine. Using anime cliches and hololive history as a backdrop for a joke barrage is a good, if standard, foundation for something like this. Look man, life wasn't always easy for me or the people around me. Through reasons I still don't fully understand, people always came to me for an ear or help, so I just kinda fell into a role of being someone who brighten up a bad day, even if just a little. It always felt good to help my friends and even strangers that way. Some of those stories didn't always end well though, but we do what we can. Being positive is the only way I got through a lot of things, there wasn't any other choice but to believe it would work out, or that I could pull through. The amount of times I've to pull someone back from the brink, including my own wife, is more than anyone should have to experience. It's fucking terrifying. I think I was only able to make a better outcome out of those because of the person I ended up being. Yeah, it could be menhera, cringe, whatever, but because of all those things, people I care about are still around. That's seems pretty worth it.
