SEED had problems in the initial show, especially after Kira somehow survives the explosion of the Aegis even though they show the pilot seat being mangled.

There's other problems that happen in the second half of the show as well, but that scene in particular was the start of their big narrative problems. It's a shame too, because I did really enjoy the "both sides are evil" aspect of the story. Gundam has always shown one side being "evil" while the other side was typically more of a "morally grey" archetype. In SEED on the other hand, both sides are basically shown to be completely reprehensible bureaucrats who only care about winning, and have long abandoned the core of any ideals they were promoting.

I think they could have done something Amazing with Athrun's character being constantly haunted by the fact that due to the war he watched multiple of his friends die right in front of him and he was the one who killed one out of pure anger. You could have then seen him witness the tyranny of his father and stage a military coup d'etat after ZAFT has basically beaten the Atlantic Federation into submission.

The most recent Konami "collection" of ports I can think of is the GBA Castlevania one, and it was pretty low effort. It's not even funny how much better those games look with overlays/shaders and color correction, so emulating them is still the superior experience. PS2 is it's own conversation regarding emulation, and there's a lot more potential for them to be more polished, so I have hope.

They're probably going to be fine, but not really an upgrade from the HD collection/GOG port of MGS. Only changes seem to be a new system that lets you pick what save data Psycho Manits sees on your "memory card" and possibly fixing the 1s delay in MGS2 between when you answer a codec call/the dialogue starts

Only real disappointment is the Switch version will be capped at 30FPS, even docked; the Switch might be a pretty weak console in terms of graphics but it feels like they could have done better with more optimization (other versions capped at 1080P/60FPS)

Kamiya was just a supervisor on Bayo 3. The game was directed by Yusuke Miyata who was mostly a level designer for MGS Peace Walker and Ground Zero.

Kamiya hasn't been game director on a title since The Wonderful 101. He was going to be the director on Project G.G. but that game is probably dead at this point, unless Platinum wants to do something like Tango did and cobble together the existing bits into a game.

With Konami's recent porting efforts, I would expect basically nothing outside of the game booting and being playable. There's probably going to be a ton of either emulation errors (if they're running on emulators) or problems they didn't pick up in the porting process. There might also be tons of missing or low res assets being used because Japan famously just didn't archive any of their old game masters. If it is low quality assets they probably will use AI to do upscaling leading to odd texture warping or general upscaling artifacts.
