It wasn't at a super high speed, but I basically left braking until too late because I wasn't paying attention and ran into the back of a sedan. I tried to turn the bike away just before impact and caused it to tip, so the bike itself was falling to the ground when I rammed into the car. I was launched off (the twist in my body that occured from the initial launch slightly fractured my lower vertebrae) and hit the back window of the car. I didn't go through but I cracked it before falling off. I had a bruise on my shoulder and some serious swelling in my leg, but besides the fracture no bones were broken. I think I owe this to the motorcycle gear I was wearing though (armoured jacket, kevlar jeans, gloves and ahelmet), because if I was in normal clothes it could have been worse.

Well, the first is that Shiori doesn't have a plan for dealing with her. Towa as well, while the idea of saving her is admirable, the idea that theres no plan B is questionable. Even something thats like "more data is required before protocols can be established" instead of just "no" would be better.
Some words being used are too personal and dont have the right amount of dehumanizing distance. Some of this comes down to word choice. Other times is unclear wording.
Like, using the word "kill" is the biggest standout. Too personal. Words like "Neutralized" "Cauterized" "Sterlized or "Liqiuidated" would be better.

Heres an example.

"magical genius", is subjective. One could say instead she has "innate talent". "albeit just a kid" is something that's casual as well as unclear. Still a kid as in age? or mentality? In any case, "juvenile" is more textbook. "prepubescent" would be even better. "correct education, she will become a fantastic mage" Correct by who? Fantastic by whose standard? "proper reeducation" would (imo) clearly communicate the organization's desire to have Kobo on their side (if that is the intent).

That The Oni's Rebellion's status as a second part might put off potential readers (A Hedonist's Reckoning was much shorter than this sequel, but it is kind of old and forgotten by now) is something I should have considered, but I hadn't thought of it until now...so thanks for bringing it up. I can take a guess at what you think might be jarring, but I can't make a fair assessment of that in case there were interactions and context clues within the past 2 chapters that would have built up to that in a sense. As far as wrap ups go it was pretty short and sweet. The reduction of heads to keep track of kinda lends itself nicely to that end. I'll also say this, since it was your own project that you were deeply passionate about, you shouldn't be so quick to doom and gloom over perceived reads and whatnot. When you put something out there, when you put all you got into it while it makes you happy, people will see it. They may not be loud about it all the time, but they see it. Be proud and happy that you saw the story you wanted to tell to its completion.

I am very satisfied with its conclusion chapter, even if it is short and to the point. It is very bitter sweet to finish off this book. I had so much fun writing it writing the last page filled me with some sadness. Passion projects are always so bitter sweet to complete, felt the exact same way when Building Block Doll was done.

You're right. I think I'm just a bit moody since its over desu. I'm proud that I stuck to my first real adventure novel because I've literally never completed one up to now and all the adventure stories before had a lot more people reading. So there is something to be said there. If nothing else, I completed it, flaws and all.

I'm glad you read it and will catch up on it at some point. I don't usually do this, but I wrote an afterward for everyone who read it so look forward to that too. Sorry for being so moody, just how it is when you finish something you have so much pride in.
