So I kinda wanted to write a prelude to advent breaking out, this is a first draft(very raw), can anyone see if one can atleast make sense of what's happening:


A song was heard at the same time by every being on our planet.
No two beings however, heard the same song
They could only describe it as an interruption, as if it was inviting them to despair

At the center of the conflict, beats in which mankind have never dared to cogitate spawned and died, over and over again, their life force sequestrated

Deep underground, the first guard didn’t care about the song, as she only cared about her sister

At the epicenter of all trees order finally gave up, trees would be grow large, only to turn into saplings and sprout roots, sowing more seeds and growing again

Deeper still, the second guard dismissed the song, as she only cared about her sister, and maybe something about prisoners? She didn’t care, one-chan did the thinking anyway

Time wasn’t making sense in this place, beasts spawned and would grow into maturity then stop aging completely, who were taken down found themselves up again with no injuries

A rock wanted to make sense of this song, but alas, it did nothing for it was a rock

From the outside the madness a hooded figure could be seen carrying what could maybe be described as a nephilim, were it still in one piece

Deeper into the prison, a beauty did not hear the song, for her jailers made sure no sound could come in, or out, of her cell, so she kept drinking her soup

“Not again, I will not lose those who are important to me again, I promise”, cried out the hooded figure, as the nephilim opened her eyes

On the depths of the prison, a woman shifted her gaze from the book she was reading, with eyes that could pierce anything, if she bothered to look long enough

The flame from the hooded figure’s lantern snuffed. And the guardian was no more

I'm still having trouble deciding on/coming up with the plot of the story. I wrote the first chapter because I liked the premise but didn't consider what would happen after that, so chapter 3 of Deal with the Devil is basically at the back of the queue right now. I was thinking about this, but the "plot about breaking the bond early" is what I struggled to come up with. As for multiple characters, I intend to introduce Kanata, but I don't know what kinds of adventures I could put into the story. An adventure without action seems boring, so I could always grant Anon demonic powers because he's bound to Towa, but that might give whiplash to the reader since it's such a shift in narrative tone, and might also sideline the inital premise of staying within 5 metres of Towa.
I could also just go with a slice of life route, but would anybody want to read that?

I mean you say that, but I think if you play it seriously there's a absurd/cool scene there of using your emotional/soul binding with Towa in order to activate a Devil Trigger that would be amazing.
Though... More seriously, you do need a plot even if this remains a slice of life thing since the romance does need room to breathe.
Maybe Kanata, Choco and IRyS are spies from Heaven/other part of hell/the fallen angels checking up on Towa's activities on Earth which leads to them getting dragged on your romcom with Towa as the 5 meter restrictions cause various wacky incidents.

It is a massive cast. I don't plan on structured routes for everyone though, it'll be a lot more scattered in most cases, which is easier to work with, even if it does tend to create longer scenes.
In terms of pacing, that won't be a problem. One of the benefits of visual novels is you can alter narrative structure. I have no idea who the players are going to go for, so I might as well let them decide what parts they wanna see.
I think players will like that a lot after the first VN, which had a long common route with some routes having tricky conditions.
All in all, it's a fun little cobweb. I'm a good way through the rough draft, I just need to fill in the gaps, but instead I find myself making more and more Maria scenes as they come to me.
